Very happy to report that the Telemum’s pain is gone and at last she is “healing nicely”. She is weaning off the morphine which had been cause for many hilarious antics (oh my sides).
She is just very skinny and furious at how weak she is after a year of inactivity.
I’m worried about my friend who has been under grievous stress for a long time. I also feel I’ve fallen down on the job of being a friend to a number of people.
Oh, Telepath, it's so good to see you posting here! How are you faring?
<votive> For Telepath, the Telemum, Telepath's friend, and Cousin Dearheart
<votive> For my dear friend P, age 96, who is having terrible problems with her vision and with vertigo.

For an elder of the Kirk, it's odd that I find prayer so hard to do. My usual prayer, that I offer here, is that the people named above will find and enjoy strength from God and through God's people. I don't believe God sends adversity, but I am sure that the strength to deal with it comes from God.
I’m another elder who finds it similarly difficult, Stercus Tauri. I tend to simply name a person before God (in the case of Shippies, I use their username), and in my mind’s eye see that person (or in the case of Shippies, their avatar) bathed in divine light. I trust God to take it from there.
This prayer request comes to you from the acute cardiology ward of our regional hospital where I have spent the last two days after a cardiac arrest at a polling booth on Saturday. Insertion of a stent has relieved my immediate drama but there is rehab to come. Full story posted down below soon.
Pa Mad Cat just rang to say the nurse has told him Ma MC will die in the next few days. She's been in a hospital bed at home for the past week, being cared for by Pa and a whole array of amazing nurses and support workers. I was able to be there over the weekend, and kind of knew she wouldn't have long.
I'm going back on the first train tomorrow. We are very blessed, but it will be hard.
Asking prayers (again) for my Giraffe, who has broken a bone in his right hand and still has one more exam to sit.... Today he is consulting his school about what to do.
@Cathscats - he should be able to get a scribe for the exams plus 25% extra time and continue. There are forms to fill in that allow for these eventualities. Kids do break arms and hands fairly regularly.
Prayers for the dead: my aunt C (stroke), my father (heart failure), my friend J (suicide), my friend N (cancer), and for S (heart attack), the mother of one of my best friends. It was a tough winter. Now I have returned from my beloved hometown to my beloved city after a six month absence.

That sounds truly horrendous, @Pangolin Guerre. Praying for you as you reestablish yourself and see how life feels.
Thanks to all for your prayers. Awaiting discharge to continue recovery at home. I have been blessed with a quick and skilled response which prevented a dire outcome.

Praying for @Pangolin Guerre and @Barnabas_Aus and for @Sarasa and her mum (see aging parents thread). The Giraffe will have a scribe for the exam and last night was practising how that would work with his father. Praying he will adapt.
Prayers for the Giraffe and all facing exams at the moment. My son had scribes all through his school/university career and did just fine. Practising does sound like a good idea though.
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Ma Mad Cat, aka Moyra, who died on Tuesday, holding Pa's hand.
We shared home communion on Sunday, led by a dear friend of Ma and Pa. Ma held the cross, and Pa said her face was shining. She was a woman of great and enduring faith.
