Telemum finally saw vascular surgeon. She will get an urgent MRI (i.e. within 2-3 weeks) to determine which surgery to have: balloon angioplasty or bypass. I’d pray for her to be healed without surgery but that isn’t happening so far. I am therefore praying, and fervently asking you to pray, that all this can be sorted out with the balloon angioplasty and then we go to the Winchester and wait for this all to blow over.
The absolute worst case would be for her to lose her leg or foot. God forbid any such thing. I would also reiterate my earlier prayer that care never becomes a problem.
I explained to the surgeon what the private consultant had done, and he yelled “COMPRESSION?!? OMG” which confirms our belief that she should not pay the private consultant. I need wisdom about how to word the letter of refusal, being that it’s so taboo to tell doctors they’re wrong.
For G. in particular and the other F. siblings, mourning the loss of their father.
For B. with a dicey case of appendicitis.
For success of work stuffs.
For the insurance to finally pay back NormalCat’s vet bill.
Yes, she's fine - the storm passed south of them, and she is pleased that they stayed put. The Charleston friends and relations are also in good shape, with some heavy winds and rains, but nothing too appalling. Now I'm concerned mostly about my mother's goddaughter/my godmother's daughter (my godsibling?), who lives in the historic district in New Bern. Thank you for asking!
Um, my uncle died yesterday. Would you pray for his family? Most of them are not Christian. I don't know anything about funeral arrangements if any yet.
I have received a message of distress from a friend of Wodders. Bless him, for many months he has been communicating with me in his broken English which is excellent compared to my non-existent ability to communicate in his language. Basically he said "Idukki dam shutter opening". Also, "Help me. Mamma"
I don't know anything else, and I don't know what to do or exactly where he is. The only thing I can think of is to ask for prayers. I have asked if he (SK) and Wodders are OK. Waiting for a response.

Thanks for asking. We dodged a major bullet. Early in the week we were in directly in the projected path, but we turned out just to be on the edges. We never even lost power at our house, though many others nearby did. The flash flooding will continue, I’m afraid, but we are on high ground.
Others not too far away have not been nearly so lucky. It’s pretty horrifying.

My heart has been breaking for New Bern. My mother grew up there—her father was minister at the Presbyterian church, also in the historic district. (For those not familiar with it, New Bern is the second oldest town in NC, and was the colonial capital.). My own home town went through similar hurricane-related flooding some years ago. It’s a devasting thing in many ways.

I hope SK or someone will be able to click on the link for him so that he can hear it - I think it would make him smile.

So this morning the Telemum fell and couldn’t get up until I heard her knocking on the floor and got upstairs. This turns out to be because she took 2.5 timesthe recommended titration dose of Gabapentin and also because (she thought) her foot was too tightly bandaged. Wisdom about how to handle these things, and for a veryfast MRI, would be greatly appreciated.
She has deteriorated to the point where she cannot leave the house. She is saying “I’m a shadow of my former self”. We need to reattach that shadow.
Please also pray that care never becomes a problem.

I can hardly walk at this point, and, as always, the prospect of intubation is making me nervous (because I'm a singer with a small esophagus and strong gag reflex, and too many anesthesiologists just jam a tube in with no consideration of things like vocal cords), and if this doesn't take, I'll have to cancel a trip to which I have been looking forward for many months. Mixed results: The pelvis parts are now cemented, and the pain is lessened, but a lesion in the left hip joint couldn't be done without more pix, consultation, and prayer. But my arm pain can probably be helped with physical therapy. Yay for that, anyway!
For successful surgery for Ross with no damage to her vocal cords. (Cousin Undead had a lot of issues with this so I get it.) For resolution of the lesion in the left hip joint, and also of the arm pain.

This evening I have had some terrible news. My cousin (who is the spiritual twin of the Telemum) had a sudden deterioration of her reasoning ability since Monday and it looks like she has gliomatosis cerebri. There is no treatment for this and no-one has ever survived it. The only course of action is to pray for God’s healing. Please do this.
As for the Telemum she FINALLY. FINALLY has a date set for her MRI, which is on the 27th. Please, let this all be fixable with a balloon angioplasty.
I really need wisdom and discipline to get on top of things because once the Telemum is gone I will be effectively alone in the world. Friends move away or die, relatives are distant. If I get into trouble of any kind it will snowball very quickly because there will be no-one to help me.
