Aha! Ahaaaa! Carnoustie Resolution clause 3, para 7 (b) if I mistake not!

    Waverley!

Put that in your chanter and blow it.

Well in that case I’ll play my Fourth Estate Wild Card…

Well, that leads naturally to Quirm Interchange (High Level)
  • BoogieBoogie Heaven Host
Not sure about Quirm Interchange today @KarlLB - I notice some planned engineering work.

    🤔

Bank - always a good bet.

Nah, that was just the new Clacks tower going up; doesn't affect diagonals.

Hmmm - think that might go into Nidd again

But wait - Dollis Hill :D

    Let us quieten things down

    Reddish South
  • Especially since that means a short hop to Tower Hill
  • BoogieBoogie Heaven Host
Aha - another clacks tower, they’ll be getting dial-up clacks soon!

In that case it’ll have to be Ankh-Morpork city on the semaphore line.

  • KarlLBKarlLB Shipmate
And it's looped as I expected - Dollis Hill
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
Oh please, not another D*ll*s H*ll loop! <runs for cover>

It must be nearly time for Evensong:

Sorry, but with only three green chips and transrail spooned, what could I do?

Dollis Hill - unavoidable; given the Brooke-Taylor Trellis (North Wales) amendments the loop still stands.

Hint: notwithstanding rules lawyer grandstanding by the Leamington Spa mob, anyone holding three Kings or a +3 magic item can break this loop - think 3d.
  • Lisboa (Santa Apolonia) then.

    That's not it!

    Dollis Hill

Has no-one got any high Spades?

Incidentally we should have started this game next month really when the Grassington and Linton Mornington Crescent and Ferret Bog-Jousting society are publishing the new ruleset. And I'm glad to say it's free of Leamington Spa silliness. Far too many modifiers to keep track in their edition! I thank God it never passed Lyttleton-Cryer playtesting.

    Baptist End Halt. Where else?

"Baptist End railway station was a station on the former Great Western Railway's Bumble Hole Line between Blowers Green and Old Hill. "

    I mean, seriously !

I hate to challenge this move given it would break the DH Loop, but surely that goes against at least the spirit of the Curbar and Baslow Spoon conventions? They don't mention the cursed loop directly but it's common practice to take them as the foundational principle for Loops, Nidd and Spoon owing to their shared characteristics

Otherwise I don't see how Meibion Llanuwchllyn won that semi-final in Llanfihangel-ym-Mochnant in 2006.

Good play! I think that sees a home straight opening - Barking (how terribly appropriate, given mention of Leamington Spa...)

Ahem. Fact checked. 1 more than Denham Golf Club.

Well, in that case, I’m taking one from the Ochre Appendix (LB&SCR 1930 sheet)

    Collington Halt
  • That's torn it! We'll have to go to Leicester (Belgrave Road), via Cefn Onn Halt, Tumby Woodside and Achnasheen of course.

I’m slightly tentative here, as I’m a bit of a rank amateur compared to most of you (in awe at a lot of the gameplay I see here), but doesn’t the validity of that depend on whether you accept the Livingstone-Johnson-Khan hypothesis?

    Wouldn’t a Wanstead-Redbridge-Gants Hill-Newbury Park-Barkingside eastern axis rollout be preferable? Just a suggestion!

Well that nicely allows me to play my rarely used just-arrived-within-the-Underground-coverage-area-in-real-life card with my nearest current station: Gloucester Road.

You've done it now. East London Vortex is now invoked; rolling a 97 on d100 and checking the table I find myself at Milan

I hope you're proud. [stomps off in search of cheap red wine]
  • You've nearly got me boxed in there, Karl. With the Vortex invoked, of course, anything east of Marble Arch is usually in Huff, but by playing Milan, you let me wriggle out with a rather neat mountain exchange.

    Pittsburgh
  • You did of course arrive a Milano Centrale? So after your wine, are you going to be fit to catch the morning train to Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia?
  • MMMMMM Shipmate
CK, you’ve lost your bet about Emerson Park.

    MMM
  • Lol, it's such a mad line - half hourly trains in either direction on a single track railway that feels as if it's gone back half a century.
  • KarlLBKarlLB Shipmate
Well I would have gone up the Como Funicular to Brunate, but that last play closes that and puts the whole EU in Spoon. So this will make things interesting until either someone can get a reverse shunt into Canada or Mexico, or Brexit happens.

Think though I can go to Thangorodrim under the existing Vortex.
  • Sorry CK - by trying to bypass without a token, your move is void, and you're splinched for the next three turns. That puts us back in Pittsburgh, and leaves me with a spare trump for a sideways move with a mettalic symmetry.

    Meadowhall Interchange

*koff koff* EU in Spoon - but under the Palterton and Glapwell International X-post rules the ball in these cases is played where it lies.

    So... Hyde Park Corner

I've got to mirror Thangorodrim with something now, and I think the only suitable move I have available is

    Get in!

    Picadilly

Before anyone asks I've mortgaged everything not on the Northern Line to pay for it. And raised my Con by one for additional hit points.
