Basically, if you follow the ‘[url’ with ‘=‘ and then close the bracket you can insert displayed text before the [/url] closing tag. If you simply want to display the url as a clickable link you close the bracket ] immediately after ‘[url’ and then put the web address and then the closing [/url] tag. Hope this helps.
Because I find there are too many keystrokes on the iPhone to do this, I’ve saved ‘[url=’ and ‘[/url]’ as ‘Text Replacements’ on my phone using ‘+u’ for the opening tag and ‘-u’ for the closing tag. I just need to remember to close the square bracket after the opening tag.
Can someone tell me how to link to a thread in Limbo on the old boards? The thread I am interested is 'What do we do with the cursing Psalms'. It is on page 21 near the bottom of the page.
Rublev, I think there’s something wrong with your url. > isn’t, I don’t think, a valid symbol in a url, but it is a tag code used in HTML (equivalent to ] in the code here), so I think that’s throwing things off.
(I just copied and pasted - no coding - and it becomes a link. But you can use the URL coding to replace it with a word, like this, which is neater when it's a very long link.)

No, something is not quite right.

[url=
then the url address like:
http://bible.oremus.org/?q1=419088916
then close bracket:
]
then the short form title (whatever you want):
Bible Browser Place
then conclude with:
[/url]
Oh, and no spaces between any of that.
[Cross-posted with BroJames]
so [url= https:// url address ]
then you put what you want to show in writing
{ / url ] closes the coding
Although the automatic coding is trying to code for me[/url]
ql=419999852]john3:16[/url]
It’s missing the ‘.org’
This:
John 3:16
is achieved by this code:
(It IS a pain to do these on a smartphone, but eventually you get the hang of it.)
Like this: What do we do with the cursing psalms?
Quoting something.
Anne Carson in Globe & Mail
Books at Guardian
Is there something which can be done to make it flow with the rest of the text ?
This is without the code code so you can see what I'm using:
St Thomas's Library
(I have coded by typing it in forever)
