Just praying through the thread since my last post. All my love and prayers for everyone's best outcomes. I also want to thank everyone for their prayers for my friend's husband, Yudi.
9 weeks and counting on a ventilator, and 7 weeks on ECMO, he had an experimental stem cell implant procedure two weeks ago and today thank our almighty Lord, he has finally been decannulated and taken off the ECMO.
This means that his lungs are regrowing important cells for gas exchange and he is taking in oxygen and expelling CO2 by himself.
Though his right lung collapsed again yesterday, and he is still on the ventilator, he is conscious now as well and is able to sit in a chair for two hours. This is amazing progress for only two weeks.
The next 24-48 hours will be important as his body adjusts to the full load of gas exchange.
Thank you everyone who have added their voices to the chorus of prayers that ascend for this determined young rabbi.
I got some good news today: The neuro-radiologist for the study that's been keeping me alive finally got around to looking at the newest pictures of my brain (which showed things as being stable) and declared that, while he doesn't know what the spots therein may be, they are stable and, he believes harmless. So I'm still in the study (that he tried to kick me out of back in March because of one of those spots). Deo gratias!
Now if they can just figure out what's messing up my leg...

Good news indeed!

Update on DaughterErin, she will be induced on Tuesday at 37 weeks. Baby is small and not progressing as quickly as the consultant wants . Seems strange to me but Erin’s OK with it.
Redundant, but losing weight. A tad depressed about covid, lockdown and worries about the future, praying that the long term plan for family to move to Weston and me moving in with them takes fruition. Thank God for a trust fund...
Good to hear from you @Alex Cockell. Praying for your future plans. Well done in losing weight: one aspect of your life you can control, but also one of the hardest.
Just heard that my cousin J had a nasty fall at work, and was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he had a CAT scan. Apparently everything is OK... but he had an allergic reaction to the tracer dye in the scan. So he's home in bed now, but prayers for his recovery would be welcome, and for his wife D who's running around taking care of everything. Thanks.
Hello Shipmates I thought I'd update you on Little Beaky. It appears that the special ketogenic diet is working as his seizures have reduced 😊
However the antibiotics he is now on to fight the chronic lung infection have caused more seizures 😣
If his lungs are clear at the end of the antibiotics we could be moving in the right direction 😍
Thank you for your prayers
Prayers appreciated. Some recurring rather intense physical pain in part of the body. Prayers please for wisdom to find the right advice and eventually the right treatment, at the right time.
It's likely to be reasonably harmless, had similar before, but perhaps some minor surgery may be needed. Grrr...
Thank you for your prayers! - I've re-found some (natural) meds which I had used locally with similar pain some time back, and which were recommended by my doc. Phew...!
Pain much lessened now, without painkillers, so some healing underway I guess - I'll still need to contact the doc, but it's a good start, and I'm much less panicky! Pain can really turn us into an utterly helpless beast, merely seeking shelter and relief.
Thank you, Shippies! Thank you, our Great Redeemer (and all that)!
<votive> for all, those struggling with jobs, relationships and health
Wesley J I am so happy to know you have gotten relief and from mother Nature's cornucopia no less. Asking for your best outcome.
Little Beaky - hang in there little mate. I pray for your very best outcome. Many hugs. Also, for legalization of cannabis wherever you are, and in the meantime for the wisdom and moderation of those in charge of your medication.
I am in a bit of a difficult position. Since I moved to my current flat 3 years ago, I have been plagued by seriously loud noise from the flat above. It is an awkward situation for me because the lady concerned has mental health conditions and her two young boys, who are the source of the constant banging, are apparently on the autistic spectrum and both have ADHD. There is no parental control whatsover snd they are being allowed to run riot for more than 20 hours each day 7 dayys a week. I have had to put in a complaint as I can't settle, get any rest, and am unable to get any sleep until after 5 or 5 days, I completely collapse and crash out.
The Housing Association have given me an app to record the noise which gets uploaded over the mobile network direct to them and are investigating. They are being so supportive and are trying to get her to keep the noise to a minimum, but it just goes over her head.
The Housing Association have said that it is the toughest case they have ever had to deal with because she is not doing it maliciously, so if they took her to court for an eviction, it would get thrown out. I fully agree, but it does not make living here easy and is having quite a severe affect on my health (which those of you who remember me from years ago will know isn't good at all anyway).
The HA will support me if I put in a transfer request and would make sure I am a priority, but my health at the moment would not make moving home again an easy thing, even if the local council list was up and running, which it isn't due to the pandemic.
Thissituation is also affecting my mental wellbeing as well as my6 physical health. I do feel that I am caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. I can't see a way out at the moment.
Oh, what a horrible predicament, @OriginalScooby! I am so impressed by how gracious you are being about the family as well. I will pray for a speedy resolution, that works for all concerned, but especially you before your physical and mental health deteriorates any further 🕯🕯🕯.
It seems to me that Scooby's neighbour is the one who needs somewhere better to care for those children, on a ground floor, with some outside area. If Scooby is moved, then someone else will have to put up with the noise.
