Trump has been taken to Walter Reed Hospital - they are still saying he’s basically fine, they’re just being cautious - but this is strongly reminds me of what happened with Johnson, where we were essentially told he was fine until he was actually in the ICU.
The problem with being a well-known liar is that anything you say will be disbelieved.
Joke meant every which way: he may have caught it from someone named Hope, and you may hope he recovers or hope he dies from it. Which is as mean spirited as he is. I'm mean spirited enough to think that some SOB* might be good for him. If we're going to have a redemption arc to this story.
If we want a redemption story he needs to get very close to death with this illness. Needs to have an angelic visitation moment while delirious, perhaps a seizure-like experience like St Paul going to Damascus, and then go on to TV and Twitter to disavow basically his life to date. Crying like a repentant televangelist whose been caught having having sex with the wrong person, er, sorry, maybe that's too close to fact.
*SOB - shortness of breath. Makes the pO2 (amount of oxygen) in blood drop, makes people confused, and often panicky with the sensation of suffocation.
As for me, I'm holding out for the Puritans' "Witch Dunking" test: If he croaks, then--for once--he was telling the truth and if he has some miraculous remission, I call BS and the hell with him!
Saw an interesting meme on Farcebark today -- It's the ultimate gaslighting that the country is being asked to pray for their abuser and being shamed for not feeling sorry for him.
So what should the rest of the Americans now dead from covid have done to deserve such attention from God? I heard a Catholic woman interviewed on WorldService last night putting her pro-life belief above all else in planning to vote for Trump, saying life was from conception to death, and I mumbled into my pillow about all those premature deaths he had caused.
Re Trump saying his medicine is a miracle from God:
Just surprised. ISTM and AIUI he doesn't particularly believe in God, and religion doesn't make much/any sense to him. (Not a criticism.) He uses the language of religion to gain and keep followers. But it's not *his*.
I saw a couple of pics of him in the hospital. He looks awful. He's been really sick. (If there's any truth to the idea he's faking, someone's helping him do a very good job.)
Is the remark about a miracle perhaps aimed at cheering up his fundygelical *christian* supporters?
They will say, 'We prayed earnestly to The Lard, and The Lard has graciously saved our Dear Messiah from the Nets of Satan by sending him a miracle drug etc. etc.. Praise Jeeeezzzusss!!!'

He's got to get really really sick and have a vision while delirious to come out of this with the appropriate redemption story. Murderous threats, filth and racism giving way to kindness, gentleness, sweetness and light. I picture him in sandals and multicoloured tie-dyed shirt.
Yes, I forgot to mention there was no orange whatever that stuff is. But he looked like a normal, non-orange person who's been very sick. E.g., when you've had a bad cold/flu for days; finally manage to stumble to the bathroom; are greeted by a startling face, which turns out to be yours; you're damp, rumpled, pale, tired, and possibly threw up at some point.
Yes, he does look quite ill, and his face seems thinner...
(If I were writing a novel, or a fillum script, he'd be de*d by now, and what we're seeing would be a hastily-prepared substitute... ).
Fortunately while there are experts at creating body doubles in the world I doubt any are up to the challenge presented by imitating this... unique specimen.
I note he is officially fine and getting better, whilst also being put on the exact drug that is dangerous if you are mildly ill and vitally important if you are seriously ill.
My deduction is that he is vey ill.
(Essentially my understanding is covid makes you a bit ill for about a week while your immune system fights (no steroid given cos it would hamstring the fight) then either you get better, or your oxygen stats drop and your immune system kicks into overkill - steroid given to stop your immune system killing you.)

But we also have been told he was taking Regeneron and remdesivir, and was taking hydroxychloroquine prevantatively.
So either he's very ill, or he's flipped and is busy snorting all the things - which would fit with being a hypochondriac and suffering from the Dunning-Kruger effect.
My opinion is that if he is discharged tomorrow, he did not have Covid 19
An interesting thought.
Do you mean, perhaps, that the whole thing is being *faked*, so that they can say 'Look! See how strong and victorious Our Glorious Leader is!'? It would make a good fillum.
US Shipmates will comment, I expect, but would it really be feasible to suborn so many medics, and other hospital staff? It would take quite a lot of $$$ to square them all, and then there'd be the risk of someone whistle-blowing later on.
OTOH, maybe he's just got a common cold, or a dose of equally common 'flu.
I think there's mileage in the idea that he's the one demanding all the fancy medicines.
If I was responsible for his care, I think I'd be tempted to say "yes sir" to anything he demanded and then give him a placebo if I thought it wasn't in his interest to have it.

Medical ethics don't allow placebos. That's misconduct.

I'm amazed there isn't a Trump-handling exemption in the AMA's code by now.
Or, more recently, the death of President James Garfield. The attentions of various medical professionals, each with their own theories, transformed a relatively clean 2 inch puncture wound from gunshot into a 17 inch long festering gash. Garfield's last word were allegedly "tortured to death for the Republic".

Ain’t that the truth!

One wonders how many of his Faithful will follow him into hospital(s)?
He's in hypocritical condition.
This thing is moving on the Trump GOP establishment like a bitch.
I wonder if the radical racist religious right will be putting a divine punishment spin on this?
Yes, Göring was, but he started off as a real cutie. (Things change; people change - but nobody ever accused Billy Barr of being attractive.)
He actually said that???

Where's Ken Copeland when you need him?
Lack of orange make-up?
(Just a guess; I haven't seen the pictures.)

He was spooked - went to hospital. Now thinks he’s fine and goes back to the WH.
I feel sorry for the doctors, intelligent well trained people, forced to dance to the tune of a crazy narcissist.

Maybe he has, and that's why he looks so pale...
What an absolute bellend.

The Republican Party is turning into The Darwin Awards: The Live Show
White House press secretary, successor to the despicable Sarah Huckabee Sanders and just as despicable.
Won't they?
Any news on The Mad God-King being released from hospital yet? I bet Melancholia can't wait to have him home again.

Annnd now two of her deputies in the press office have tested positive.
The pure sociopathy of the Trump White House is staggering.
People around him = trying both to believe and to keep themselves safe, and to still have a job for money to pay for their rent and groceries.
T's groupies/voters = many still trying to live within T's dream.
Little cracks = reality trying to break through the metaphorical dam T built to both impress and contain his followers.
What happens when it all falls down?
