Please pray for T who had major bowel cancer just six months ago. A few days ago she had hip replacement which was a great success. However they have found the cancer has returned.
Please pray for a situation involving my 14 year old grandson. I can’t go into details, just that it is Extremely serious ( not health related) and will probably have long term consequences. His parents are at their wits’ end.
I just got word that one of my younger friends has died of a heart attack. Please keep L's family in your prayers. Two of his sisters are on their way from south Florida to north Florida right now. Please pray for a safe journey for them. Thank you.
{{<votives> for all who, in this transitory life, are in trouble, sorrow, need, sickness, or any other adversity}}
On a slightly more upbeat note (YMMV), a prayer, please, for the well-being of the new President of Slovakia, Zuzana Caputova. She seems to be refreshingly liberal in comparison with the apparently burgeoning right-wing elements elsewhere in European politics. Let the reader understand.
Grandson had pushbike accident on way to schoolas mentioned in Downunder thread. Broken arm, stitches in leg, gouge on knee, and bruise from pedal. He is miserable and arm in plaster is painful.
Praying for Loth's grandson. And for my giraffe son who is suffering the consequences of having a drunken friend fall on him so that friend is fine and the giraffe has all sorts of cuts, bruises and swollen bits. So prayers, but not too much sympathy (because if you must go out with these boys you must take the consequences..... Hard Mum!).
For Puzzler.
For jedijudy's L and family.
For G and her family.
For bruised sons and grandsons.
Okay so Parliament are yet again voting on shit that will dramatically affect the rest of our lives, probably for the worse. The far right continues to smack us around in anticipation of having complete control of us in the very near future.
The Telemum got over last week's illness and immediately segued into a new illness. She has had perhaps two or three days or half-days of near-wellness that I can remember since, I can't quite remember when.
Also, having wrecked her stomach and oesophagus (she had a medicine to protect her stomach but wasn't interested in taking it until the damage was done), her heartburn now makes it very difficult for her to keep food down. The doctor says that the protein loss caused by her condition is making her nutritional status worse. She finds the prescribed protein supplements disgusting and vomits them up.
Telepath, my heart breaks for you. Every update seems to bring some new perversity, something else that feels utterly cruel and impervious to resolution.
Okay, voting concluded, and the default is still that a week on Friday, we automatically leave the EU with no deal. The medicine shortages have already started.
I know I should love them. But right now I hate every single one of the selfish irresponsible gumbies that are already causing us untold damage.
<votive> For Loth's grandson

<votive> For Telepath and the Telemum. (I keep praying for things to go right, and they never do!)

Thanks for all the prayers for grandson. No school for him today and he was still in considerable pain today so he was taken to doctor by my son. She removed the many metres of bandage around his knee which made walking very difficult. Stitches and other mess on leg has been dressed by nurse at medical practice. She has given him some codeine based pain relief for a couple of days. No school tomorrow. Perhaps also not on Thursday. He also feels better as my son bought a waterproof sleeve for the arm and he has had a shower.
I am thankful for this practice too. About 200metres down the road, a brand new building custom built for the longstanding medical practice.physio, pathology and more all under one roof. Even better is that an emergency is always seen but appointments are made and there is next to no waiting. My medical practice before I moved was always crowded and waiting time was always well over an hour even with an appointment. Big an airy with lots of chairs.
{{the Telefamily}} and all affected (potentially or otherwise) by the current trainwreck known as 'british government'. May those responsible be forgiven. Eventually. After Purgatory. And after considerable personal Pain.
As long as the General Direction is forwards ...
Though I am now in A Different Situation (metastatic breast cancer) I was once in a Long Term Orthopedic Recovery project. Plod on, comrade. Even if you do not get back to 100% the wish and the will and the persistance have their own reward, I have found

I had a brain scan today; my internist says it looks fine. I'm still a little woozy, but I have faith that things can be amended once they know what's going on. Next up: A ScanFest™ on Monday, when my bones and liver will be inspected once again. I am praying that the cancer is stable.

I tried ordering extra canned food and pet food last month and she told me not to do it again because it was too distressing to watch me unpack it.
So this time I go down and tell her we need to prepare for the food shortages and she turned her head and inertly looked at me, the way she does.
