Question: If Ms. May were to do a seriously good job of putting T in his place about something, anything, would that change the public's opinion enough that they might want her to stay?

Just curious.
No. The damage has been done, and it in large part was self-inflicted.
We were right about el Presidente getting put in his place by the royals, but we got the wrong one...
I’m not always proud of Prince Charles, but giving Trump a ninety-minute ticking off on the subject of climate change has got to be one of his finer moments (the conversation was apparently meant to last 15 minutes and Charles did most of the talking). Well done, Charlie.
Our PM, mastermind of our current offshore detention policy, is currently in London preparing for the WW2 commenorations. Please don't make too much of a fuss, but if someone could dog shit the bastard that would be a great relief.
Oh his name is Scott Morrison. I don't like to say his name for fear of invoking a demon. He is balding, fat and has goebbels - style glasses. OK, it seems Goebbels didn't wear glasses, but if he had worn them they would look like the person I mentioned's glasses.
He has a big forehead and beady little eyes, and could easily play Piggsy in Monkey Magic.
Here is a video with a bit more about Monkey Magic if you don't know it. The phoenix can fly only when its feathers are grown.
Yes indeed - apologies for possible invocation of daemons, but I had a Senior Moment (the second one today ), and thought you were referring to our PM...
(signed) BF, obviously first cousin to Homer Simpson...

Please wait your turn. If anyone is getting dog shitted in London this week, it's Trump. But I guess they could do two for the price of one...
I apologise on behalf of we Beleaguered Uklanders, but our poor country doesn't have enough dogshit to cover another couple of other deserving candidates in addition to Blump...
Bullshit we have in plenty, however. It is to be found stored (mostly) in the House of Toddlers Commons.
Saw a picture of sign protesters, one read "Another Prick With No Wall", which my immature sense of humour thought was rather funny. I wish the media were not so conflictually fawning about him: they're just dying to report the next outrageous thing he does or says, and then do report it with swollen orgasmic pleasure. It's like a voyeuristic audience watching a striptease buh-buh-buh-boom, waiting for his poopy panties to fly into the air. They are always poopy, he is always poopy, they and he will always be poopy. What does he wear the reporters want to know: a thong? low-rise bikini with mesh front? briefs with an empire waist?
#CadetBoneSpurs: no one cares whether you were a “fan” of the Vietnam War. No one believes you were medically unfit to serve. You used your wealth & privilege to avoid serving your country five times, forcing another American to serve in your place each time.
Now, you're stealing billions from @DeptofDefense's budget to fund a wall you promised Mexico would pay for. You're failing to support military families by taking away caregiver funding. You're kicking out Americans who *are* willing to serve only because they're transgender.
Sane people aren't "fans" of war — only #StableGeniuses would even think that. I’ve met many #WWII#DDay Vets. None ever said they were fans of war. They simply answered their nation’s call, regardless of what they thought. Especially during the draft — it wasn’t optional for them.
These comments only make one thing clear: @realDonaldTrump got his deferments for the wrong thing. They shouldn't have been for his disappearing, imaginary bone spurs — they should have been for that yellow streak down his back. At least that would have been a real condition.
The impetus was Trump's interview with Piers Morgan where he said he wasn't a "fan" of the Vietnam War so that was why it was okay for him to use his wealth and privilege to avoid the draft (slight paraphrase).
It was something of a contrast watching the D-Day anniversary coverage over the past couple of days; swinging between images of Trump and the veterans, some of whom were barely out of boyhood when they landed on the beaches and watched their mates get shot and blown to bits, or drowned. It doesn't bear thinking about what the result would've been had the USA had a President of Trump's stamp at the time of the Second World War, and we were all in so much need of intelligent, forceful, decisive action from strong, committed Allies.
I understand that in his person he represents the office of President and the people of America, so obviously had every right to be there, in that capacity. But it seemed somehow almost an insult that someone of his personal character was allowed to assume a superior authority, in such a setting and amongst such company. I say that, really and truly not wishing to in any way disrespect Americans, and their incredible sacrifice in WWII. The war would've been lost without them.
I was watching the images in my favourite Vietnamese eatery at lunchtime. They have a TV on the wall tuned to a news channel with the sound turned off. Which is by far the best way to watch el Presidente AFAIC.
Having only the images, the contrast in Trump's and Macron's body language was striking. Macron was doing open, interested, serious. Trump looked bored and fed up, I think because even he has enough self-awareness to know this was an event that he couldn't make all about himself.

Of course he couldn't. It was about young men, who whether they wanted to or not, went to war. I'm sure thousand's of them could have avoided conflict. Quite how Trump dodged the draft and got the nomination is an enduring mystery.

Don't be so sure about that. Here's Trump using an American military cemetery in France as a backdrop for trashing Robert Mueller and Nancy Pelosi during an interview with execrable fascist-defenderLaura Ingraham.
Exactly, although I was about 12 when I watched the shows on TV and never realised that Tripitaka was a boy.
I'm sure you could be forgiven that, as it was a very attractive young female actress playing the part! Not just British Panto that mucks about with gender role-reversal!
... The impetus was Trump's interview with Piers Morgan where he said he wasn't a "fan" of the Vietnam War so that was why it was okay for him to use his wealth and privilege to avoid the draft (slight paraphrase).
You mean he's trying to make us believe he was a conscientious objector?

Give me strength ... 👀
Actually, he said:
I thought it was very far away, nobody ever … you know you’re talking about Vietnam and at that time, nobody had ever heard of the country.
Boogie, the article you linked to clarified some of the troubled thoughts I've been having about that orange person. Thank you.
I've also been having a lot of troubled thoughts about a few folks who have told me that they think the orange one is doing a 'good job'. It's a miracle I'm not bald from tearing my hair out. That *person* has brought out the worst in so many people in this country.

He is flat out stoopid, gross and evil. IMHO.
Try asking (as I recently have), "Doing a god job at what, exactly?" I have a sister who said that exact sentence to me -- "He's doing a good job." When I posed my question to her, she mumbled something about the economy.
Trouble is, while she's not in the 1%, she's definitely among those who benefited from the tax cut. Me? If it weren't for my veggie garden, I'd have to apply for food stamps. She graduated from high school; the most responsible, highest-paying job she ever held was as a restaurant hostess; she hasn't worked outside the home in 40+ years (we're both well-up in years), has comprehensive health coverage acquired (with her wealth) through her now-deceased husband. She thinks her wealth was acquired through hard work and scrimping.
I have a master's degree, am still working (poverty-level wages as an adjunct college instructor), have Medicare, and put a kid through private secondary school and college single-handed (with scholarships). My comparative poverty, likewise achieved through hard work and scrimping. What's wrong with this picture?
Rich people (even those who inherited wealth) seem to be much more likely to believe they've earned their riches through nothing but hard work and being smart. Conversely, they think that poor people are lazy (even those with 3 jobs) and stupid (even those with several degrees), because to believe otherwise would make a mockery of their value system.
Hunter S. Thompson wrote this as an obituary for trumpy's elder brother in crime Richard Nixon in 1994. Well worth a read. Scathing. Particularly informative is Thompson's assertion that objective journalism cannot cover such a degenerate. Does this apply to how the the game show presidente views himself? ""if the president does it, it can't be illegal."
He has poisoned our water forever. Nixon will be remembered as a classic case of a smart man shitting in his own nest. But he also shit in our nests, and that was the crime that history will burn on his memory like a brand. By disgracing and degrading the Presidency of the United States, by fleeing the White House like a diseased cur, Richard Nixon broke the heart of the American Dream.
History rhymes. Trumpy has a Tricky Dick. Reincarnation is real, even if the timing is off.
Try asking (as I recently have), "Doing a god job at what, exactly?"
You and I are alike. That's what I asked the people who told me that. One mumbled about the economy, but since we were in a restaurant, I didn't remind him of how the president he didn't appreciate dragged the economy out of the trash bin after W's trashing of that same economy.
The second person is an avowed racist, and is so pleased to have a person in charge who makes it an OK thing to be a racist. He's my son-in-law's step father, so I can't just kick him out of my life. (That's another story altogether.)
The third one is my mom who has Alzheimer's and doesn't even know anything that's going on. Bless her heart.
The others have been more quiet lately. I'm hoping they're finally opening their eyes to the horrors of the orange person. I can hope, can't I?
Presuming they're Republicans, maybe remind them how he mistreated John McCain? (I'm not Republican and I think T treated McC very badly. But ISTM Republicans are more inclined to outrage about that, 'cause McCain was Their Guy.)
Quoting far-right nutjob Hopkins who's been trying to stoke racial hatred for years.
Fuck off Trump.
Yes, actually retweeting the "Londonistan " quote is incredible. Not just racist, but stirring up sectarianism. No need for dystopian films, it's here.
"Londistan" plays quite well to his racist supporters who, when they're not thinking of shooting black people, putting up border walls, listening to fetal heartbeats, killing brown people in other countries.
The fact that the American nation is totally unable to deal with him is astonishing. That seemingly educated and knowledgeable politicians support him, that there isn't a majority who'd impeach and remove him.
It's only fair to say that a huge number of Americans (some of whom post on these boards) do NOT support him. Alas for them, and for all of us, there are still far too many who DO support him. Those who are against him are probably still gobsmacked and flabbergasted at the thought of the Monster who is their Head of State.
I guess the same applies in the UK to supporters or non-supporters of BoJo...

Not like Trump is likely to eat the salad anyway, is it?
Mind you, even so small a morsel might have caused the Great Orange Boil to burst, spewing vile, stinking Pus upon HMQ and the other guests.
O wait...that happened when he began to speak.

Blump truly is a disgrace to his unfortunate country.

Looks like it's inspired by the Chinese classic book "Journey To The West". I presume that's the Monkey King in the pic at the link?
"The Lost Empire" is also about "Journey To The West", and very good (YouTube).

So it was his ignorance, not his conscious.
The hack writing the political satire we're living through is particularly heavy handed, so I'm going to go with "everything Trump touches dies".
This.
