  • Just heard from my Mum: it's not looking good for Aunt S: she was taken off her blood thinning medication after her stroke, and she's developed a clot in her leg, which has turned gangrenous, so it's probably just a matter of time now .

I have just found out that little E, about five years of age, died suddenly Wednesday. :bawling:
Please remember his parents, J and M, and baby twin brothers in your prayers. My heart is broken for them.

    Little E and family 🕯
  • Adding my prayers for all of us who are mourning.

Little Beaky has just left for home. We had a lovely time together apart from his seizures which are still appalling.
Our daughter told us that at any point one of the extreme ones could kill him. This was a shocking new development and is another thing we now need to process so thank you for your prayers.

    🕯Prayers for all above.

    🕯Prayers for the UK.

🕯Prayers for everyone who has been bereaved, however long ago. Grief doesn't ever go: we learn to live with it, and it ambushes us again and again.

    Lord, please give us strength.

My aunt C died this morning after having Alzheimer's for many years. Please pray that my uncle, D, in his grief will not feel guilt for what must be a huge relief. He did everything for C with only the tiniest amount of help.
  • Prayers for all of you, jedijudy.

Caring for an Alzheimers person is so hard. Mum would have collapsed under the strain and place in home was available just then. She was overcome with guilt that she had broken her marriage vows but we told her she was fulfilling them in passing him to where he could get the care she no longer could give.

Months down the track, she was just beginning to feel what a burden it had been, even though shouldered willingly.

I ask your prayers for my friend Pam, whose breast cancer returned a few months ago after years in remission. She is having a hard time.

Your poor mum, I had to say to a friend recently that taking care of somebody, didn’t necessarily mean doing it all yourself, but finding the best care for somebody, wherever and whatever that care is..

None of us lived near Mum at the time, so we had all the help available that we could find. Respite care and outings for dad, cleaners, district nurse etc.

One of the reasons it was hard was that he wandered. He had walked his dogs twice every day for several miles and walked himself, so he was fit. She had to be on the alert all the time. He tried to light a fire in built in wardrobe as it looked like a big fireplace to him. The mental strain added to the physical.

I understand that you did all that you could, I was responding to your poor mum thinking she had broken her wedding vows by having to let him go in a home..
  • Fine. She eventually saw he thrived there and felt the relief with burden off her shoulders.

Answered prayers: The study drug didn't do much for the cancer in my bones, but it did a number on the mets in my liver, which have shrunk by 42.6%. I am in the study, and should have another good four to six months before it stops working. (I'll be here for Christmas!) Deo gratias.
