  • Ross is having terrible pain tonight, which the ibuprofen and tylenol aren't helping. Please pray???? I'm posting this to the prayer thread as well, at her request.

O dear - and everything sounded so positive after the op. Do please keep us all posted.

Scan done; will let you know results in due course. Circumstances around the scan were horrendous, but got through.
But how about you @Robert Armin. Do you have the results of your scan yet, and have you been able to put the horrendous circumstances behind you?

    Yes, I was wondering, too.

  • My youngest daughter (mother of Little Beaky) passed the 10th anniversary of her cancer diagnosis this year and whilst giving thanks that she is still with us, I have been praying for all who post here. You are on my mind and in my heart.
  • I don't know, but perhaps should mention that surgery causes its own pain, so we'd better not assume things about whether the op worked as it was meant to.
  • Yes, that is so - thanks for the reminder.

We just hope and pray that the pain - whatever its source - soon subsides!
  • Rossweisse is in the emergency room right now with severe pain, but mostly NOT in the leg, which is good, for what it's worth. Also a small wheeze, God knows why. I will keep you posted as she lets me know (she has given permission).
  • Thanks @Lamb Chopped - prayers ascending...

  • She's back home, but not 100% yet.
  • Thanks again @Lamb Chopped - prayers continuing...
  • I haven't had any concrete news about my scan, but I'm getting a phone call on Thursday. This I take to mean there is nothing wrong; when there is, the medics get in touch very fast.

Thanks Lamb Chopped! And good to hear that Robert Armin.
  • Catching up on posts... thinking of all those going through so much.

That is so, but it makes one wonder why, if the news is good , they can't tell you that straightaway as well!

I work on that principle too Robert Armin - it's how I found out about my metastases; called in to the family Doctor as After Last Appointment of the Day on the morrow after a standard post-pneumonia check-up at the local hospital!
I think they put all the "OK, no change" scans in a pile and the juniors write them up one by one but not under any real time pressure
  • I'm tired, aching all over, and have a cat stuck on the roof that I can't get down. (We have storm force winds here.) It's not a good day.
  • Thinking and praying for everyone here - and the cat.
  • Amen. I hope we hear from @Rossweisse again soon...

Meanwhile @Robert Armin - I hope you feel better as the day goes by, that the winds will subside, and that the Cat (a Feline Minister To The Sick?) is soon safely on terra firma again...
  • Thanks to the help of the RSPCA the cat is safely back. But now she's sulking.
  • O dear. Well, at least she's safe, albeit probably Very Cross with her staff...

Typical cat. They lose their dignity and blame YOU.
  • That's family life all over
  • Rossweisse is improving, though slowly. She says the pain is much better than last week, but the surgical pain is still there and there is some new stuff. The leg pain, however, is mainly fixed, thank God! She says the Feline Ministry to the Sick is in top form. She hopes to hear some special music at church tomorrow.
  • Thanks for the welcome update, LC! Prayers continuing.

    Thank you, @Lamb Chopped!

This is going slowly, but it’s going. There are some problems with getting my meds straightened out (I suspect that there may be too many medical cooks stirring the pot, as well my having to make some decisions about what’s safe and effective at 2 a.m. when I’m in pain and can’t sleep), but I will work this out. Tomorrow I get my stitches out; on Tuesday I will have a shower (I am not a fan of sponge baths), and wash my hair! properly.

    Robert Armin, any news?

So glad to see you posting again, @Rossweisse 🙂
  • Welcome back Rossweisse!
  • Delighted to see @Rossweisse back!

As for me, apparently everything is stable, which is good. But I ache a lot and have no energy, which isn't a great deal of fun.

In that we are a team, @Robert Armin.
  • Good to hear from you both, however.

    Keep on keeping on!

Great to see you, @Rossweisse and good to hear from @Robert Armin too.
  • This hasn't been a great day. Shortly after I posted this morning I started coughing up blood. After that I went back to bed and didn't get downstairs until 4pm.

Cancer is seriously strange. When I was getting bad news, I felt fine. Now I'm told everything is stable, and I feel rough. What is going on?
  • I’m so sorry, @Robert Armin! No idea what’s going on, but I am praying for you.
  • Indeed!

I saw the neurosurgeon today for my follow up visit. He is very pleased with himself and his work (as well he might be), but says that he has no idea why I’m having such awful pain in my ribs. Really? I guess it’s going to be my job to figure out how to deal with it.
