🕯 Prayers for healing, for individuals including @Rossweisse and @Niteowl, for America and the UK and all countries in which reconciliation is needed, and for the impact of the pandemic on all peoples of the world.
My son LL just called from college with COVID symptoms. The testers haven't called him back yet--I'm guessing they're a bit busy, as it's the optimum time for anybody who caught it on Election Day to come down with symptoms.
Edited to add that my student daughter has been tested twice, once with symptoms and once having spent time with someone who was later found to be positive. She was negative both times. Hope LL may be too.
My son was just tested Saturday, since he was showing at least symptoms. Negative. My daughter, who’s a college athlete, has been tested weekly since August.
That said, I think they both had COVID last February/early March, when they both went to student health and were told they had “something like the flu but not flu.” No way to know for sure at this point, of course.
Our friend B had an interesting life. Born 72 years ago in Russian occupied Poland, her family migrated here in '56 when there was a slight loosening of the strings. She grew up, married, had children and dogs, then was widowed. Her last 2 dogs were beautiful Labradors, named Bradman and Ponting. Bradman died a few years ago, and last Friday B joined him.
Of your mercy, please pray for B, her family and Ponting.
Please add a prayer for my father who died on Nov.10, 1956. I wish I had known him better. And I pray that he is partaking of the celestial banquet with those he loved and continues to guide and love me. Thank you. Lord, hear our prayer.
Prayers please for my writing buddy L. Her brain cancer has been stable for quite a few years but at present she's in hospital due to the effects of a severe migraine.
Praying for everyone that needs our prayers, specially those that cannot ask.
Thank you for your prayers for I, the teenager I asked for prayer for last week.
She has come through the 10 hour operation well, and today managed to sit out of bed in a specially-supportive chair for the first time.
She has a lot of rehabilitation to come, and her life will be completely altered by the operation she had had to have.
Please continue to keep her in your prayers, and also K & M her parents and her brother J.
Many thanks and my prayers for all who have asked for them.
Our church, Christ Church, Clermont Ferrand, is rejoicing because we have appointed our new Priest in Charge. She is coming from Michigan, US. With Covid travel restrictions, it is more difficult than usual to get permission to travel, to get visas etc. The embassies are being less-than-helpful. Please pray that the bumps of administration & bureaucracy which are necessary evils of international travel these days may be smoothed, so she & her spouse can join us. We've been without a priest for two years and we are impatient to have this one where she belongs!!
Talked to Rossweisse, and if she can get a certain number up, or down, or into its proper range, anyway, they will let her go home Friday to her kitties. Please pray.
Thanks, and prayers for everyone above, especially Rossweiss, ands I keep thinking of Scooby, too, and Little beaky.
It's my friend's birthday tomorrow, which is making him very aware of things he has not done, and blaming himself for things in his life done by others. (I keep wanting to put more in, but shouldn't. Bad stuff by the ordained, shielded from consequences - not however by a church.)
I find it very hard to find ways of cheering him, as he is a person who needs lots of contact with others - currently a useful phone call from a nearly ordained person, for which I offer thanks.
