Given the car crash of my previous years, this was a momentous occasion. Galleries and exhibitions in London interspersed by food in one of the parks. Lovely.
We were ... older! Seriously, both financially secure, I wanted children and we were pushing it age-wise for that option at 36 (me) and 40, and it just felt "right" from first meeting.
I can tell you that it came as a bit of a shock to suddenly find myself a stepfather to two twentysomethings 😯
Today, according to the Book of Face, is International Midwives' Day, so I'd like to give a shout-out to the lovely ladies with whom I work, and all their colleagues who make pregnancy and childbirth as happy an experience as it can be.

It would have been my parents' platinum wedding anniversary today, so I hope they're having a hoolie in Heaven.
