Could I ask you to pray for me please. I feel very lonely and depressed. I haven't got any family and I've never been able to make friends. I've got a home and a job, enough money and fairly good health so I shouldn't feel like this. But I'm getting older and it's frightening me. And church doesn't work any more, and I have no sense that God is there. All the people who meant a lot to me aren't around any more. I can't pray. There's no-one I can talk to. It's all getting on top of me.
(I don't know why, but this seems to come in four year cycles - I felt like this around the time of the last two World Cups)
All Saints is for support, Nuthatch, so thank you for posting. Have you considered the Black Dog thread down here? Not just for those with depression, but much allied unpleasantness too. The Ship is not the place for medical advice , but is great for support. I found that out for myself.

So the Telemum has an appointment with Tissue Viability on Wednesday, finally. This morning she was in extreme pain and I dialled 111. But she felt better by the time we actually talked to someone. And then this evening I noticed a purple rash spreading up her *other* shin, as if the infection had jumped to the other leg. Or maybe it's an antibiotic allergy rash. Or maybe it's that rose thorn stick she got in the garden yesterday. Or maybe it's nothing. Been waiting 5 hours for a callback now. That means it's nothing... right?
Also Normal Cat seems to be missing, and I'm sure she's just out enjoying the night air and it's not the serious illness she was recuperating from, or the Droncit I put on her neck or the bug spray I sprayed in the kitchen when she was passing through. Or anything.
And the show I was in, that I staked my reputation on, that the apparently fraudulent backer has cancelled because he hasn't sold any tickets 2 weeks before curtain up, whereas the cast booked nonrefundable flights two months ago on his instructions, but we surely can't expect him to take a *loss*, can we? An angel donor has appeared to save the day, but it involves negotiating with Fraudy McFlakerson. There's no way that could go wrong.
Please pray for us? My sister is reaching the end stages of her ovarian cancer, and we are not sure if she will live long enough to even get into a trial (her only hope at this point). She is in the hospital and has had yet another surgery. I will need to go out to see her soon, and this will mean more time away from work. My mom thinks two months of life...
Mr Lamb has a sister in hospice (jaw cancer), but it's the other sister (Alzheimer's) and her husband (end stage cancer) both of them whom we may lose first, and their children are traveling to see them.
This is a sucky year. I'm not over my brother-in-law's death yet from April, or my husband's stroke from the same day.
I don't really know whether to pray or curse. Okay, I know, but still.

Prayers for the Family of our dear Shipmate, Janine, who had her heavenly homecoming with her heavenly family and also heavenly ship family members today.
All who knew her will need strength in the coming days. Janine's cancer was awful and painful and her loved ones were right by her side.
Now she is at peace.
I'd really appreciate prayer for the appearance of work and the evaporation of the Finance Monster. It's stopped taking little nibbles, started taking great big bites and I don't have any limbs to spare.
