It is to laugh

We have a bad jokes thread, but I don't think there's anywhere to park funny stories and real life anecdotes. So...

We were doing our washing up shift at the community table this morning when a mild fracas broke out. Pretty soon a couple of police officers showed up looking like business, one of them a young woman. A dear old volunteer must have recognised her from somewhere else and said loudly, "My goodness - how you've grown!" She took it well, with a smile. Publicly cracking up was not the correct response, so I had to hide round a corner.

Something similar happened to Mrs. Gramps on Sunday. We were having a congregational chili feed, and we were seated by some friends. A young man entered the fellowship room and sat down next to our friends. The man was fairly tall and nearly bald. Mrs., Gramps, wanting to be friendly introduced herself with her first name. The young man said, "I know you. My mom does house cleaning for you." Turns out the young man used to go to our Sunday School. He came to the meal to visit his grandmother with whom we had been seated.
