  "Standing Still" seems an odd name for any church service, let alone the one you describe.

  Miss Amanda did note the lack if “whooping and wailing and babbling in tongues”. Perhaps this was advertised as a “sit and listen” service rather than the full-on Pentecostal experience.

  Miss Amanda tells us that the sermon concluded thus:
  
  Stand still, and let God do his work for us.
  
  Hence, perhaps, the title of the service - maybe every week, the name of the service gives a hint as to the content of the sermon?
  
  The church website simply lists 10am Sunday Morning Service among the other activities.

  Their Facebook page specifically identified it as "Standing Still – The Service of October 31st, 2021." Miss Amanda does like to be literal, don't you know.
  
  The service for the previous week was called "Peter's Denial" and the week before that "Happy Pastor's Day." I didn't watch those videos, but it would seem that they name the service after the theme of the sermon.

  Sounds clever to me. While I wouldn’t want a steady diet of it, I think a little off the cuff/hard scrabble preaching here and there is good for the soul. Keeps those of us bound by rigid ceremonial rubrics from lapsing into mummery.

  Yes indeed -- no mummery. No prancing around in silly clothes threatening mischief unless we're given something. I don't know of any church that does that -- do you?
  
  Seriously, though -- I've seen other Mystery Worship reports (not recently) where the name given to the service was akin to the sermon topic. I thought the reporter was mistaken -- but now I know it's not a completely unknown practice.
