I love worshipping at Southwark Cathedral occasionally - it is usually packed out which is a nice change from rattling around in a half empty church. The worship is, as the MW found, stately but accessible. And it really feels like the Mother Church of its diocese—which cathedrals dont always.

They are getting it right here. Bring It On!

    Lovely review!
Southwark is a parish church as well as a cathedral and that’s just one of the many things that make it so special. Mr A and I were regular worshipers there until we moved out of London a few years ago. We miss the community there.

I’m a volunteer Day Chaplain there. It always has a very pleasant and friendly atmosphere
