I struggled to notice much difference in light levels at the relevant time yesterday but, looking out into the garden at the same time today the level of brightness on the fence, and particularly the walls & windows of the building beyond the fence was obviously much greater.
I think the person was correct who, upthread, said that watching the light slowly change as the eclipse progressed made it difficult to recognise just how much dimmer it had become than was usual
I found it quite noticeable. It was like wearing sunglasses, but without wearing sunglasses. The temperature in our very sunny back garden also dropped by several degrees.
Me and my partner are eclipse chasers and have seen them all (with one exception) since 2008. This time we were in Majorca and had a fantastic view. Every total eclipse is different, this one was special because of the "moon illusion" (only noticeable with the naked eye) where the setting moon or sun appears larger. This time the eclipsed sun hanging just above the mountains appeared huge.
I see many people were underwhelmed by the 90% eclipse because the light level doesn't seem to drop much. That is true, normally your eyes filter out the light they don't need. The light level in a total eclipse doesn't drop till nearly the last minute, then it is spectacular.

My brother and family also went to Majorca for the eclipse.
They said it was great - a real community affair in the village above where they are staying. A family from England joined them as well as three Germans and a woman from Thailand.
It looks like a nice country area, at the start off the path up to L' Offrey and Lluc monastery on a pilgrim's path.
