I am out of hospital and the operation did go ahead, despite evidence of a spike. There may have been complications in the anaesthetic but none they bothered to tell me about as I kept shaking when I came around. Now I am home I am drinking, eating and home I just need to try and see if I can get a good rest in my bed.

((JJ)) I had this op last year - if you had keyhole they inflate you a bit with gas and the first few days are uncomfortable as that works it’s way out of your system. But it does pass quite quickly, a few days only. Just be gentle with yourself and you should be feeling pretty good in a fortnight or so. It was shock to me to realise how much low grade pain after meals I’d just been putting up with the gallstones and not really registering. Once I healed from the op my quality of life became *so* much better.
(I remember turning up to A&E with gallstone pain and vomirting, the receptionist helpfully told me I didn’t look well - and they found a me a friendly person in scrubs to give me tasty tasty morphine.)
Please uphold M, his wife K and their daughters. M is a mainstay of our Meeting, a courteous and talented man. He had a heart attack, out of the blue, a week or so ago. He is seriously ill in hospital, he is having an operation today with a 50/50 chance of survival. We are upholding him as a Meeting, all of us shocked by this sudden illness.
