Follow-up phone call from the hospital to see how I'm doing one week post-op. I was able to say no lymphoedema, only modest discomfort at worst. Only problem is that the little support pillow tends to lock you into one sleeping position which eventually pinches on a nerve.
Congrats on dodging the lymphoedema - a major embuggerance, that.
Day 2 post op. Surgical center called this morning. I do have a post op consult with doctor on Feb 16.
Yes, gallbladder surgery has greatly changed in the last few years, Surgeon used a robot to do the procedure. She cut four incisions just above the stomach and used small instruments to cut the gallbladder out. From the sounds of it, the gallbladder was abscessed. If I waited any longer, it could have been fatal.
Being out of our home town (and Australia altogether) we are missing our twice weekly Interval Training, and tennis for me, gardening on our sloping garden for LKKspouse.

I got a shock this morning. I need new clothes for an upcoming holiday. I am not good with clothes, have no sense of style and for years / decades I've bought most of my clothes from Marks & Spencer. And since John Lewis and Debenhams closed I have bought all my clothes there.
Marks and Spencer in Aberdeen has reorganised and downsized. I went in today to discover that as part of the downsizing they no longer stock size 20. Size 20 is available online, apparently. There was nothing I could try on in M&S.
I know I'm fat, but I've always thought that shopping in "normal" M&S, rather than shopping for clothes somewhere like Evans meant that I wasn't "that" fat. Now the goalposts have moved and I am too fat for M&S.
Fortunately Next still have size 20 and I bought three tops there, two of which are probably a bit more stylish than my go-to "safe" M&S. (The third was a basic T-shirt).
I need more than 3 tops for my holiday, so I'm going to have to go on voyage of discovery round Aberdeen to find what shops are out there.
Obviously the long term solution would be to slim down to an 18, but I can't do that before the holiday.
We're going on a Mediterranean resort holiday with our daughter and son-in-law, his parents and his sister. I've never been on a holiday like that before. All our holidays have either been active tire-them-out holidays with the kids, or city breaks going round museums, cathedrals etc.
So I just don't have the right clothes - I need a couple of lightweight dresses for dinner, a couple of swimsuits, (my existing cossie is practical, but faded), some sort of lightweight-but-stylish daywear...
I'm not sure the M&S online will be much help, because I'm looking for a new style of clothes.
FWIW, my daughter's mother-in-law is a decade younger than me (well, 9 years and ten months younger) and literally half my weight, though also a few inches shorter. And she dresses beautifully.
The nearest Yours is in Stirling, @Firenze, but Sainsburys is a good idea. Does Sainsbury's have changing rooms? I'm finding it hard to envisage myself in the sort of clothes I'm told I'll need. I really want to be able to try things on. The aim is to pivot from frumpy to fabulous, from eclectic to elegant.
I am very much looking forward to this holiday, but finding out that I am too fat for M&S Aberdeen has been a blow.

I'm going to add a vote for Pure Plus (I have several of their linen tunics) and Yours - their angel-sleeve tops (made of a lovely floppy lightweight jersey material) are the most perfect thing for warm weather.
The Pure Plus link shows some Made In Italy dresses, a brand (with a confusing name) which can also be bought from other outlets, including eBay where I have bought several of their linen dresses, but also in high street boutiques. Searching for ‘lagenlook’ can often bring up similar styles online.

I'm a size 22 (usually - I like my clothes, especially tops, to be generous), but nearly all the things I've bought that were labelled "lagenlook" have been so generous I could almost have gone camping in them!

Cheery son has been doing well, trying to get out for a walk each day, trying to avoid times of high UV.
