Coupled with Michael Flynn’s incendiary comments about martial law and the blizzard of new Pentagon appointments, there may be more going on than just bloody minded obstruction. I would not be surprised if Trump is exploring ways of staying in command by force. I appreciate that is a pretty crazy idea but the President’s behaviour is looking increasingly unhinged. Divorced from reality and enabled in that by a number of really bad actors, in the media, in his legal
support and in Congress.

Nothing new in that citation. It does say Flynn is arguing for martial law, but that was already known. Looks like the conversation was about whether to name Powell as special Counsel to look at the election. However, she had already been fired by Trump and Congress could easily defund the Special Counsel program,
Note, while Flynn has been pardon for past sins, he has since committed sedition by arguing for martial law.
We had a patient at the hospital where I work whose delusion was that he had a very important government job (the fact that he was in a state hospital meant that it was a posting, not incarceration). He spent much of his time doing "paperwork"--writing reports, which he sometimes mailed to various agencies and officials (we occasionally got perplexed responses). It's not hard to imagine Trump in his office at Mar-a-Lago signing imaginary executive orders and tweeting about how the deep state is undermining him--while millions join in his delusion. That's the happy ending.

Given this past year, I'm worried that the US is on a path where all the craziness, sin, sludge, and toxins in the big American closet will (have to?) spill out before any fixing and healing can succeed. That's hundreds of years of crap. Suitable for Hercules' task of cleaning the Augean stables (Wikipedia)

You've got to wonder whether having a Parler account ought to be considered suspicious even of itself. It's Sto***ront for the twitter age.
Aha. I know of the one you allude to, and that one definitely is suspicious, AIUI. Never heard of Parler before.
I wonder if this is another example of people on social media losing all connection with reality and consequences, and thinking it's ok to say whatever they want--'cause "everyone else is".
His comment should be taken very seriously. I just marvel that he actually posted it.

I would think you might be right - though this is something that maturity might be expected to lessen in us. People say the most amazing things over a few drinks in the pub, and it used to be a rare few who went to the trouble of publishing those thoughts in print.

This reminds me of a Kevin Bridges routine about Trump. Bridges is from Glasgow, so he uses the f-bomb like you and I might use a conjunction.

I rather thought he had Trump down - "enjoy your night mate".

We have also learned that the Globalists like George Soros & the Elitists like Bill Gates were involved. CIA too(no surprise- military industrial complex).
Nice to see a Republican finally picking up the torch from Eisenhower. Sort of.
That link about Lin Wood is bananas. Cheers GK. Stetson's response is great too, but I fear that the classic LBJ comment (I want to hear the bastard deny it) no longer applies!!!

I'm not one for hearing anti-semitic dog-whistles everywhere but could that "Globalists" be any more blatant?

Within the context of "Soros", etc, yes.
Thing is, though, since about the mid-90s, "globalization" has been a villain for the left as well, without most of the "anti-globalization" movement intending it as anti-semitic. So a lot of people who hear the term used by the MAGA crowd might not pick up on the innuendo.
(Personally, I was never a huge fan of the left-wing anti-globalization movement, so if its terminology gets discredited by association with Trump and Brexit, that's pretty much okay by me. It's kinda their own fault, since the aims of the movement were always kinda nebulous, and hence an open-invitation to hijacking.)

Senator Tim Kaine in reaction to that phone call said the only way to deal with a bully is not to appease him because he will continue to bully but to stand up to him. I hope the Georgia SoS will tell him to stuff it.

Really disappointed to see figures like Cruz and Pence still pandering to Trump's attempts to undermine the election result. I suppose I ought to expect it but nevertheless it's somehow especially depressing.

Sure, but you'd hope that someone who characterised Trump as a "pathological liar" in 2016 might be keen to get "out from under" at the first possible opportunity.
For those with the stamina for such things (and a willingness to use one of your monthly Washington Post clicks) the whole conversation is available here. It's 1:02:40 long.
Just jaw dropping. Surely now Pence and the other lunatics have to stop the nonsense, accept the result, and denounce Trump?
I'd like to think so, but probably not. This reminds me of another recent article in the Washington Post recommending some measures to overhaul American democracy and increase public confidence in elections. While a lot of them are good ideas (especially eliminating the electoral college), the basic flaw is in the premise that Republicans are genuinely concerned about election security and ease of voting. They're not. They're upset that they lost and they're making a lot of bad faith arguments to justify throwing out an election and giving them a win they didn't earn. That's all there is to it. I don't know what the answer is to the Republicans' sociopathy, but electoral reforms aren't going to satisfy them. They just want to rule (not govern).
Washington Post articles are behind a paywall. But I was able to see:
Trump has urged supporters to travel to Washington to protest the outcome, and state and federal officials are already bracing for clashes outside the Capitol.
The streets of Washington will flow with blood on Wednesday. Wait and see. And what will all these Repugnicans do then?

The Emperor got more votes in 2020 than He did in 2016 ... This will be ugly for a long time ...
Vis-a-vis DT's suggestion that votes be "found", one commentator said if this sort of evidence surfaced in, say, an African country, a US president would be calling for UN troops to be sent in.

Apparently Raffensperger recorded the call, gave strict instructions that the recording would not be released unless Trump attacked him publicly. Which Trump did in a tweet.
By any standards it is a remarkable conversation. But I think Croesos is probably right about the impact of its release. However, I wouldn’t be in the least surprised if some of the content is used in any debates in Congress later this week. By both Republicans and Democrats.
And yes, I’m concerned now about the risks of violence on the streets.
I periodically wonder if T is going to do a Rumplestiltskin*, stamping angrily in a circle, over and over, until he wears a hole in the ground, falls in, and is never seen again.*
