No word from my ex about L and health insurance. He's become an extreme right-winger (and extremely bad influence on L), so who knows what he'll say to her?
Yes, the people. Actually, it is the church where my sister works, the church where she worships could also do with prayers but it is vacancy issues, not a crisis.
<votive> For Jengie's sister et al
<votive> For all in need
The ex says he was present when a doctor mentioned to L that the hospital has social workers who can help, and that as far as he's concerned it's up to her to follow up on that. I called her and left another message, this one specifically about the presence of social workers in hospitals, and suggesting that she put in a call. Your prayers that something positive happen on that front are very much appreciated.
Ross - prayers that your daughter makes contact with the social workers.
Prayers please for my sister, who is struggling with mental health problems. She has just moved from Cornwall up to the Midlands, and is currently falling between two NHS districts. She can't sleep, and is feeling very anxious and agitated. It took about a week before she could be signed up with her current doctor, and he says he can't alter her medication until he hears from her psychiatrist in Cornwall...and that was several days ago. She is being really brave, but she sounds at the end of her tether. I have now suggested she tries going to a walk in clinic (she has found one in the phone book.) More than anything, right now, she needs access to appropriate medication.
Thank you Cathscats- Little Beaky is really suffering with his NG tube whilst he waits for the surgery to put a feeding peg into his stomach- the waiting list is months.
Meanwhile his mum is due to have his little sibling in four weeks time and is struggling to lift him. Services to children with disabilities have been cut but an application to get them 15 hours a week support goes to panel next week on the 19th so all prayers very much appreciated.
Praying for all. So much need. My heart is heavy for you all.
The Telemum is getting better all the time. However Problem Cat just chomped into her arm and drew blood. It would be just hilarious if it got infected.
Plus a postdoc vacancy just came up with my 2nd supervisor, so that’d be one less thing to worry about if I got it.
Boris Johnson continues to exist, as does the rest of our governing party.
Mrs Beaky - prayers for Little Beaky's mom when she applies for the 15 hour support...
Telepath - hope Telemum recovers from cat bite - they can be nasty, and that one sounded very unpleasant. And fingers crossed with the vacancy for yourself. Prayers for you and your family.

My lymphedema is getting worse, in terms of both pain (it just keeps getting more severe, and the meds aren't doing much) and swelling (my clothes don't fit); none of the treatments seem to be helping, and I am having a very rough time. I'm also worrying nonstop about L, which is not useful. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.
(I feel as though I'm whining nonstop here, for which I apologize; this is a truly loving community, though, and I trust you'll understand.)
Ross, you impress me so much with your endless care for other people, on this thread and others. Go ahead, whine all you like - in a sense, that's what we're here for

13 yo grandson is currently having left hand stitched. I am not sure what he did but he was chopping either ironbark or the bark from a piece of ironbark for the smoker, Actual wood is extremely hard and bark only a bit less hard. His dad and uncle took him to the smaller hospital up the mountains instead of the much bigger one down on plain. When he went there with broken arm and knee needing stitching, he was almost five hours. Was triaged on arrival and is now being stitched up. Transport time was similar.
@Rossweisse
Sorry about the worsening lymphedema ....... that sounds really challenging for you. Also sorry about your concerns for L. So glad you are sharing these things with us. Prayers and hugs.
@Lothlorien
Sounds like a long day for your grandson (& his dad and uncle). Hope he is now done with the hospital, and is back at home. Hope his finger heals reasonably quickly.
Prayers ascending for all in need, especially Ross and L, Caroline and her sister and Loth and her grandson - he's not having the best of luck at the moment, is he?
Lothlorien, is your grandson having a growth spurt? That can mean that all balance and distance measurement becomes unreliable until he's finished growing and has got used to his new proportions. (We saw it gymnastics coaching - the kids would suddenly not be able to do things they'd done easily the week before.)
🕯 Prayers for all in need here, both asked and unasked
🕯 For Rossweisse and L
🕯 Lothlorien's grandson
🕯 Lamb Chopped
🕯 Sarasa, her mother and brother

No he’s and I think CK’s suggestion of growth spurt may be involved. I had three sons, one accident prone. I should have thought of that. His judgment of things is usually fine but the broken arm came from an argument with a fence when he came around corner too fast on his bike.
I am not sure what he did last night. DIL was shifting stuff in the garage when he came towards her looking quite odd, as she said. She realised he was injured and called the other two. They got him inside and sat him down, looking decidedly green around the gills. Blood everywhere.
Uncle called Katoomba hospital, an older hospital up the road, fine for basic stuff. No waiting there, unlike the big place down the mountains where had waited five hours for attention with the broken arm and gashed knee.
They cleaned him up and stitched it.
No sign of him this morning yet but he does not get up early. he did ring his mum after returning here and was sheepish about things.
For healing for Ross, freedom from worry, and assurance that L’s needs will be met. And I think if you can’t vent here, where can you do it.
For caroline’s sister.
For the Grand Lothson, for healing.

Looks like the Telemum has not contracted raging sepsis. Actually she seems to be a bit better today than yesterday. But she can still only walk to the end of the street, on a good day, and it takes her a lot of time and effort, and that affects her morale.
Going to the Holy City for a scan (we don't have such a thing here in The Provinces)...to see if my drug's still working ...oh well ...I might see a camel or three and may have a chance to be a Good Samaritan on the way back (going down the road from Jerusalem to Jericho) ...
Prayers please for peace of mind
(Being as the oncological situtation is whatever it is there's no point wasting prayers on that, folks!)
The Telemum is fairly depressed since she gave up morphine, and I’m getting a bit depressed myself for different reasons. This shouldn’t be, and in my case, mustn’t be; I'm the morale officer here.
I applied for the job, so, fingers crossed.
Unless something changes, this country is going to crash out of the EU on 31 October, whereupon we will be entirely at the mercy of our malicious, stupid, and indeed sinister political classes. (gee i wonder why i'm getting depressed these days)
I need the slickest time management you could possibly imagine, starting now. Watch me go.
Sounds like you have a lot on your plate Telepath. It can be a tough call being the morale officer. I share your concerns about Brexit Prayers from here.
Good luck with the job application. Fingers crossed.
