Praying for everyone, especially those affected by natural disasters.
In the aftermath of the Venice floods, I am particularly thinking of St George's, the Anglican church there, where I was a regular worshipper whilst studying in the city.
Just told I have bone-on-bone arthritis in one knee (not so hot in the other one either). Need to lose weight, but at a standstill on how to do this, given the reasons for it, and the lengths to which I have already gone. A bit freaked out!
🕯Prayers for all who have lost loved ones recently or at this time of the year.
🕯Prayers for LC, and all suffering from arthritis, rheumatism, and other painful conditions - especially those which flare up at this time of the year, often worse than last year.
🕯Prayers for the UK, help!
🕯Prayers for the world, its climate and its politicians - thinking of those affected by floods in England as well as in Venice and elsewhere, and the people affected by conflict including those in Palestine and Israel, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Our community of 200+ near Mt Nardi have been evacuated for a week now and have had an anxious and busy week fighting fires and doing fire prep. Prayers please for the safety of people and property. It’s tragic that this is rainforest that is burning - it wasn't supposed to burn.
Certainly Silver Swan. I am in Blue Mountains, Fire prone, although here is reasonable. My sister at Forster was evacuated twice. I still have bag ready to grab and go. Having actually had to leave like you would be terrible. Hope all goes well for you and your community.
Silver Swan, best wishes for you and your community. Rainforest burning sounds almost impossible, would it have been because everything dried out with the heat and the winds?
I wish we could send some rain to NZ's largest offshore island I know some NZ Firefighters are there lending a hand.
I should find out if there is anything practical other Kiwis can do. Here in Christchurch we got heaps of support from various Australian organisations in the aftermath of the quakes and it would be good to be able respond in our turn.
My sister was evacuated, Mary Louise. Twice We had fires near us but have just checked the RFS site and only one is left. Yesterday there was one at each end of the road. I do think where I am is fairly safe, but gales and embers mean nowhere is truly safe.
Prayers (again, still) for Tiny Toby who is again having trouble with his breathing and been moved to a special sort of cot (being by now too big for an incubator - which is A Good Thing in its own way).
Apparently these breathing problems are typical of babies born so early and his Downs Syndrome contributes to his lack of "resilience". They tend to "grow out of it" say the doctors ...
Yes Huai, heat and wind on top of record drought dried the forest. The fire front has passed and vigilance will be needed for possibly two months until good rains fall to put out the burning stumps.
In New South Wales a million and a half hectares have burnt.
Thank you all for your prayers. I normally keep a prayerful eye on this thread. Blessings.

For all in need
Prayers ascending from over here too, RA. May I ask for prayers for B. and E., friends of a friend who are both going through very challenging health issues?
