So they changed the Telemum's antibiotics on Saturday, and said they should've swabbed it and never did. But today at her appointment it seems they did swab it and what's really needed is patience.
Patience?!? It's been a month! I do hereby get impatient on her behalf.
(Also, Problem Cat and his uncle Fraidy Cat - who are mortal enemies - share the same family of origin, some people a few doors down who have some criminal history. It seems the apples don't fall far from the tree. I have joked that Fraidy Cat, now that he has gained weight, looks like Tony Soprano. Well... yesterday there was a terrible shriek, and I ran downstairs and I kid you not Fraidy Cat had Problem Cat *pinned to the ground* with one hand, and with the other hand was winding up to beat him to within an inch of his life. It literally did look like a scene from The Sopranos, and it was actually disturbing. We have *never* seen this level of violence from or between any cats we have ever had in our lives. WTF.)
Please pray for my dad, he fell and broke his shoulder. He is eighty-nine years old and lives alone in a house with stairs and uses his arms to help him get up and down stairs.
For my friend E, please, back in the Old Country - she slipped on a discarded biscuit (WTF? - hi, Telepath!) on the polished floor of a shopping mall and has damaged her knee. (Crutches, ice, no driving, etc etc). Given that she has *just* retired, this is horrible news
Dad still in A&E ward but should be transferred to a medical rehab setting (ward, community hospital, specialist care home) in the next few days. He needs help with his walking as well as his shoulder.
I am home there is really no point in hanging around just to visit him.
I just got this e-mail from my daughter Jan about her seven-year-old son Nat.
Nat has been diagnosed with end-stage renal failure (they’re not 100% sure but it matches all his symptoms). The going theory right now is that his kidneys were just congenitally defective. He’ll be on dialysis for a while to get stronger and will then need a kidney transplant. He’ll probably be in the hospital through late June, then will do dialysis on an outpatient basis.
I’m doing ok so far—after all it is my job as a parent to reassure. We haven’t told him yet how serious things are, or how long he’ll be staying, or how this affects his summer plans.
Please pray for Nat and Jan, as well as his eleven-year-old brother Theo and his father Jon
Dad now in intermediate care. So being looked after and hopefully forced to exercise (given physiotherapy) and taught new ways of managing (occupational therapy) rather than just sat in a chair all day.
Clearly given the nature of the fall he also has osteoporosis but not quite sure what they will do about that.
Arrgh. One step forward, one step back. Dad has decided he is being institutionalised and he just wants to go home. If he goes home he will end up back at A&E. Please pray that he will cooperate with the regime and get as much benefit as he can from the therapy on offer.
So the Telemum is having to go to the nurse twice a week, the wound is not getting better. The nurse is referring her to some clinic, but it will be months before they even reply. So the Telemum faces months, if not the rest of her life, being curtailed by this. Needless to say she’s not very happy. Please pray that this heals properly and quickly and doesn’t become a really long-term or permanent problem.
For Nat, Theo, Nat's mum, Moo and the whole Moo herd <votive>
For Jengi and Jengie Dad <votive>
For Telemum, Telepath, and Mob critters <votive>

For all of us, for those we love, and for those who feel unloved <votive>
Saturday morning, off for a prayer vigil at the church, a chance to light candles and rest in shared silence with others. Taking along a list of names and requests from here.
<votive for all>
Praying for Nat and his family, hope he get's in good shape for a kidney transplant soon.
Praying for Jennie Jon and all of us with elderly paretns that are causing concern.
For my friend H whose MiL's funeral is today and my friend S whose mother died on Thursday.
Praying for all who post here and those that need our prayers and feel they cannot post.
I would like an Evangelistic event shut down NOW if it is the group I think it is. I rarely feel so strongly but the damage they are doing in Christ's name makes me livid.
<votive> Please pray for J's mother, M, who is dying of pancreatic cancer. J, a friend and neighbor, has moved into her mother's house to care for her; she just texted to tell me that she can no longer leave her alone. J is fearful that her mother will suffer.
The 40th anniversary of a mass death at a boarding school, St John's School of Ontario. 11 June 2018. 12 students, one adult killed on a school canoe trip. For some reason it's particularly poignant to us this year. Alumni of the 3 St John's schools are remembering today.
For those interested, there's a couple of documents here.

What a Good Idea. I often spend some time sitting quietly alone in church - we have our own list of peeps to pray for, but I could take some of the requests here with me as well.
Meanwhile, <another votive> for all struggling through this Vale of Tears...
ION, my bl**dy Twisted Pelvis is gradually getting back to where it should be (says the osteopath), but various muscles are still inflamed, contracted, and painful. I am continuing to hobble about with the aid of a stick, and it is a salutary experience to be (hopefully only temporarily) partially disabled.
Of your mercy, I need prayer. As a result of high levels of back pain, and some other issues, I'm being rushed into a ScanFest - two MRIs tomorrow (Wednesday), and a bone scan on Thursday. The worst case could be very bad indeed. I am trying not to worry, but it does infiltrate through the cracks.
Prayers, Ross. I had an MRI today (orbits) and while I'm not really worried, it's still a stressful thing. Hope yours go smoothly and have a good result.
