Praying for all Janine's husband, family and friends. I am sad to hear of her passing and her struggles with cancer. Praying for all those struggling with health conditions or for their loved ones who are ill.
Please pray for my cousin H's baby K. I posted about him back in December when he was diagnosed with leukemia. Treatments up to now have kept him with us, but he needs a cord blood transplant for any hope of a cure. This is going ahead today or tomorrow. Having known two adults who had this treatment or bone marrow transplant I can't help dreading that little K. won't pull through. One of the adults I knew died from infections as her immune system never recovered and the other survived and the treatment was successful, but he was too weak to do anything for many months and hovering between life and death for quite a while before he recovered. However the cord blood is a 100% match from a non-family member, which is apparently the best case scenario. Please pray the treatment is successful and that K. does not suffer too much. He already is experiencing all the awful effects of chemotherapy. Please pray for his parents and wider family as well as his big sister I. who cannot see K. while he undergoes treatment and also cannot see her mother for much time each week and is really upset and missing them both.
Please also pray for my friend E's mother who has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Thankfully her type qualifies for a new treatment that can be taken at home, has minimal side effects and will hopefully give her 18 more months, in which time a new treatment might be developed. If the lung cancer was a different type she would probably have months to live. Please also pray for difficulties in the family that may occur due to the cancer probably having being caused by her ex-husband's chain smoking around her and his children. He left her for another woman a few years back and over time has rebuilt a better relationship with E. and her brothers, but is now telling his children not to blame him for the lung cancer. Of course he didn't give his ex wife cancer on purpose, but he was a nurse and in total denial over the effects of smoking on him and his family even after he had a heart attack when his eldest was only 14 years old.
<votive> for all, especially for those in incurable pain, and for those anxious for those whom they love. Waiting and watching SUCKS.
(Sorry about the four 'fors' in one sentence.....).
<votive> for E, who died last Friday, and for her son P and his family. P's brother died late last year, and his father, J, earlier this year, so poor P - a stalwart member of our little congregation - has had a triple whammy to cope with.
For (((((Ross))))) it hurts just thinking about that.
For close confiding companionship, and healing, for Nuthatch.
For safety and good living arrangements for Dad Jon.
For PANDA kids, for healing and a solution to the mystery.
For saysay.
All right so the Telemum is kept up at night by pain (so won’t be able to do the thing she was longing to do this week) but on the other hand she’s not *too* bad. I would just like to get this sorted out quickly for her.
I’m also doing some advance praying that care never becomes a problem.
The good news is, NormalCat does not have hyperthyroid or leukemia. This means the large probably-inoperable mass in her abdomen can be treated! Yay! The bad news is she still has a large probably-inoperable mass in her abdomen. Scan and sample on Thursday… and right now I’m praying that she lasts that long :-(
My dear friend, the Woman Clothed with the Sun, is suffering from respiratory diseases and also facing minor surgery this week. Please pray for her healing.
I've had a letter from my cousin which looks like he's having a psychotic episode. He is 71 which seems a bit late for that sort of thing. His brother has bipolar disorder, though. I don't really know what to say to this.
Praying for all in need. I ask your prayers for the Most Rev. Michael Curry (Presiding Bishop of TEC) who has just announced he will be undergoing surgery for prostate cancer next week.
For Mili’s baby K and family including big sister I. For E.’s mother and E.’s family.
For MaryLouise’s special intention, and for her friend A.
For Raptor Eye’s D and J and J and his parents.
For BF’s E, her son P and his family
For Lamb Chopped.
For Cousin G and the Woman Clothed with the Sun.
For Golden Key: healing, upholding and private intentions.
For all affected by the wildfires in Greece.
For the Most Rev. Michael Curry.
Thanks that the Telemum is doing much better (can cheerfully walk half a mile and back unassisted), however, she still needs to wait, wait, wait to see the vascular surgeon and in the meantime, get effective pain management.
NormalCat is not doing well. The growth was so large it didn’t even fit on the screen. Of course we have to wait, wait, wait for the sample results which will return tomorrow, well, Monday. I would be surprised if she lasts that long, considering her liver is also not in good shape, and she went into heart failure both during the scan and on the way back from the vet.
So to cap all the fun, we’ll probably have a body to dispose of over the weekend. We’ll have to take it to the emergency vet.
This is the cat who has cared for us for eight years. She has never given us a moment’s trouble.
I have taken on a serious responsibility which causes me intense stress and anxiety just thinking about it, but I have to do it because God wants it. Gah
actually all my responsibilities make me feel that way, so why not add one more
Also, I despair of what will happen around Brexit. The idea that this government can or will recover any functionality in the aftermath is not believable, in light of their performance on this, the one and only focus of their efforts for the last two years. Why can’t they just drop this nonsense and go back to shitting up all their other responsibilities, like the carload of malevolent circus clowns they are.
<votive> (O PLEASE, Hosts, can we have our candle back?) for all who, in this transitory life, are in trouble, sorrow, need, sickness, or any other adversity.
That includes Cats.
On a slightly different note, please hoist up a prayer for Our Place's first confirmation course since 2014, and for the two ladies (J and S) and 11-year old J. Father Helping-Out Priest is taking the 6 or so sessions, starting after the Eucharist tomorrow, and aiming for a confirmation service elsewhere in the Diocese at the end of September (the priest there has cheerfully allowed us to gatecrash!).
With all the doom-and-gloom about church decline, fall, and annihilation, (see other threads in Purg and Eccles!) this is at least a little gleam of light in the surrounding darkness.
I read that back in March that Zeke and Sir Kevin were in a car accident. Plus he has Parkinson's so I'm praying for them right now.
Thank you. Zeke is doing well, but Sir Kevin's Parkinsons has been exacerbated the accident. I see Zeke regularly and will assure her of your prayers -- I know she appreciates them.
Mr. Lamb has had three, count 'em three, funerals pile up on him this week--one for a church member and friend, one for a non-Christian friend, and one for a young man we baptized 28 years ago, dead of homicide. He's a bit stressed. Oh, and one of them is going to involve a great many of the same people who threw us out of our old parish years ago. And I can't be there to support him for other family reasons...
Praying for LC and Mr Lamb, that these difficult funerals go well 🕯
For Sir K and Zeke 🕯
Asking for prayers for someone I didn't know well but greatly admired who committed suicide this week following months of severe depression, BM. His family are devastated 🕯
