<votive> for all, especially those who seem to be taking one step forwards, but two steps backwards, IYSWIM.
Please God, let my aching legs work well enough to get me from car to train, and from train to hospital (King's College, London) tomorrow for an MRI scan on my lower back. Contingency Plan A is to take a bus from station to hospital (one stop!), and Plan B is to hail a taxi, should one providentially appear.
Thanks be to God, travelling + MRI scan went OK (but tiring).
<votive> for all in need, especially P., who I met in the MRI suite. His brain tumour (mostly, but not entirely, removed in 2011) is probably back again.....it was a cancerous (Grade 2) version of mine (Grade 1).
OTOH the nurse says the Telemum is on the mend. OTOH her pain relief is not enough and she has dialled 111 in desperation. I also notice that the leg in question is swelling up again, when it had cleared up; that is what will stop it from healing & stop the infection from clearing.
Praying for all (by name, but I worry I'll omit someone if I name them in my post, so that is why I just say for all - but I go through them all and pray individually). 🕯
Thanks Ross, Niteowl, MaryLouise, Cathscats, Piglet, Bene Gesserit, fineline; same for you.
For BF’s P.
Thanks that Galilit got some rest and feels better.
For the repose of the soul of Andre, and for his family to be comforted in their grief.
Heartfelt prayers for good health for K.
For T. and K.’s employment issues.
For M., G., and J.
Okay so a doctor visited last night, and reluctantly prescribed the Telemum a small amount of morphine and encouraged her to re-add ibuprofen into her regime.
Here is what I pray *doesn’t* happen: in six months’ time, the Telemum is crying with pain again, and she is crying with pain *forever* because she has built up a tolerance to morphine and there is nothing any doctor can give her that will help, ever again. This is a thing that must NOT happen.
She went for a checkup today which she says indicates no progress. However she was strong enough to help me in the kitchen for several minutes, even after a long afternoon in the hospital. She had to hang onto the counter the entire time, but she couldn’t have done this at the beginning of the week. So IDK.
Anyway: was up late last night dealing with the doctor, and up early this morning rushing to the pharmacy, didn’t get enough sleep so couldn’t drive to the lab, again. This kind of instability has got to stop.
Also, Problem Cat is coughing again and he better not have asthma.
A friend who was a missionary to Pakistan posted the following text she had received on a Facebook group
Dear Friends,
You have heard about the supreme court decision to set Assia Bibi from Jail. She was accused of blasphemy 9 years ago and was critically suffering in jail. We kept praying and thankful that the justice has been done. Assia was under serious threats to become Muslim for pardon but she remained faithful and thanks be to God for her courageous decision. Assia is free but actually not because she will remain under threat and we do not know where is she now. She may move abroad and will rejoin her family after a long time. Thanks be to God for this tough and true decision, however, Pakistan especially the province of Punjab is unrest now. Section 144 has been applied by the government of Pakistan to control gathering and hate speech. There is an urgent prayer request to all international Friends and Churches to pray for the Christians and churches of Pakistan.
We called the meeting to discuss the situation and closed the Theological Seminary for five days. Friday can be critical for the community as many after Friday prayer will protest against Assia and Christians and people may harm Christians as it happened many times in last years. Please pray for peace and security for the Christians of Pakistan. We are encouraging Christians to remain calm and peaceful. Please also pray for the Judge of Supreme Court who took courage to declared such a tough decision. Along with him, the government of Pakistan is under threat. Two political leaders are already murdered in 2010 who wanted to support this case. Let the peace of Christ be remained in Pakistan and Let Pakistani Christians show their loving neighbourhood and love at this tough time.
Regards,
I have her permission to post and ask that you will share in prayers of Christians in Pakistan at this time.
Telepath, I must emphasise that I AM NOT A DOCTOR, but might it be worth trying cannabis oil (freely available - and legal - in the UK) for poor Telemum? Have a look at Mr. eBay's Emporium.
I repeat, IANAD, but it does seem as though some non-addictive pain relief of the natural, herbal variety, is now obtainable.
<extra large votive> for Christians in Pakistan. Our Place baptised a Pakistani convert some years ago (he had had The Dreamaka a visitation from Our Lord, or one of His angels), but even he had to flee to another city a few days later.....
My sister has been given the choice between hospice and a last ditch cancer trial in another state. She is hallucinating much of the time. Our travel plans are now completely up in the air...

For my own health, for the end of lung-itis(!)
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer

Praying through the thread, for all, by name.
For Galilit to get some rest and feel better 🕯
For the Telepath and Telemum, having such a hard time 🕯
Asking for prayers. For for the repose of the soul of my elderly neighbour, Andre, who died very suddenly this morning: for his family in their grief.
Continued prayers for my niece K would be deeply appreciated, she seems to be struggling with severe anxiety and paranoia, very alarming.
It worked and it was lovely to sleep and wake up like a Normal Person.
I slept till 7.30 am.
Thanks all!
Prayers continuing for you, for ML's K., for her neighbours and for the soul of Andre. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

The Telemum has had her morphine and for the first time is still in pain afterwards. I don’t like how this is going.
Prayers ascending, for all in need.
