I was surprised to discover that it is not, in fact, a long, long way to Tipperary.
Of the three people I know of who come from Uxbridge; Sven, the delightful Samantha, and Boris, I would rank Boris third in any vote for a political post.
The multi-talented Samantha seems to have empathy, and the ability to socialise happily with a broad cross-section of society.
When I first heard the Partridge Family sing, "Point me in the direction of Albuquerque" I was also discovering Jack Kirby's Inhumans. In my mind I linked it with Attilan, or Brigadoon, a mystical place that was hard to find. Years later I was disappointed by the prosaic reality.
I had to look up Nidd - it's a small village (population 168) in Yorkshire, near Harrogate.
I knew of the Nidd Valley, which once had an interesting, if short-lived, Light Railway, but hadn't heard of the eponymous village. O the joy of learning new things, that the Ship provides!

It stars Stephanie Cole, Benedict Cumberbatch, Roger Allum and John Finnemore (who also wrote it). One-off and recurring cast members include Anthony Head, Timothy West, Prunella Scales and Helen Blaxendale...
For reasons both too complex and too silly to go into here, the crew find themselves flying to somewhere that they are pretending is Timbuktu, and in order to avoid confusion (!) The real Timbuktu is referred to as "T₩imbuktu Timbuktu"
I cannot recommend it enough. It's worth listening to in order, starting with "Abu Dhabi"
