I heard from my oncologist this afternoon about the results of yesterday's ScanFest. The good news is that the lungs look clear. The bad news is that there's a tiny new (probably) cancerous spot in my brain; the docs in charge of the study I'm in are currently debating whether to allow me to stay in it or kick me out. Prayers that it's the former would be greatly appreciated. I'm feeling pretty good right now, but I'll be headed for hospice quickly if I'm not allowed to stay.
I would appreciate your prayers as I prepare for surgery tomorrow to relieve the prostate condition which has troubled me since Christmas. Clinicians are confident that my cardiac rehabilitation has been successful so general anaesthetic will not be risky and the laser procedure minimises blood loss so they anticipate only a 2-3 day hospital stay.
Barnabas, I hope your surgery is simple and uncomplicated, and that you recover quickly. I've spent a large chunk of the past 15 months or so dealing with plumbing surgery, and I think at last I'm most of the way back to normal.

I will have a herceptin infusion tomorrow afternoon; I'm approved for treatment until mid-April, when I have my next brain MRI. Thank you for your prayers!

Prayers from us for your operation and general health.
Please pray for X who is not safe where they are but for whom we currently cannot find a foster-care placement.
(And if anybody out there is considering becoming a foster carer, please please do - lack of foster carers is a huge challenge for keeping incredibly vulnerable children safe.)
Prayers of Thanksgiving for @Rossweisse
For a successful outcome for @Barnabas_Aus
For safety for @Zoe 's X and for all in the foster care system
For relief from COVID-19 - really, I don't know where to begin with praying in times of pandemic!
Prayers for so many. Can I include prayers for E who is 101 years old and is dying in her care home. She is glad to die, full of faith, and my prayers are that she may get her release before her family are not allowed into the home to see her lest they bring in infection to other residents.
Many thanks to all for your prayers. The procedure went extremely well to the great satisfaction of the surgeon, and I'm now comfortably ensconced at home.
Praying for all who are also in need.

<votive> For all in need, particularly those affected by covid-19, especially all the musical and theatrical artists thrown out of work - and, therefore, out of pay - by the closures sweeping the world.
From what I could read this is absolutely shocking! I turned my back on the CofE institution, for several reasons, a few years ago and seem to be confirmed in my decision on a regular basis 😢.
Re Oare and Culbone
The diocese of Bath and Wells, in the person of its Archdeacon, have decided that no House-for-Duty post should be advertised, rather that the two churches have services taken by?.. Their last HfD did visiting, baptism preparation, etc. No arrangement for any of that is proposed.
To this end the diocese have let out the vicarage, which was built and paid for by parishioners on land they were given by a parishioner for a nominal sum. However, the diocese are arguing that since no covenant was put in place they're free to do with it whatsoever they wish, including selling it.
