  • Am I imagining it, or has there been a rash of these people recently?

Maybe the trolls are coming out of hibernation just like other animals?

I wonder where these so-called feral teens hang out? In umpteen years working in Birmingham, I've never seen them. Certainly not in the Library - any library.

They live in the sewers, like the supposed alligators living in the sewers of NYC. Hmm. I wonder if these feral teens have some alligator blood in them?!
  • It’s not like you strip off next to the sink.
I have known a number of people (men and women) who do exactly this after a lunchtime run / cycle commute to work to wipe a flannel around because they don't have convenient access to a shower.
In 40 years I have never seen anyone do that in a public toilet.

I used to do this in the work toilets after cycling in - the only shower ran cold, supposed to be there to clean up anyone after an accident, and I was asked to use it to check it out. It was seriously unpleasant.
Also most people are sexually assaulted by people they know, usually in houses (whilst houses tend to have unisex toilets, there is no evidence that this is the most common room for such an assault) rather than public toilets.

True. But this is another example of stranger danger. Most child abuse is carried out by relatives and/or trusted family friends, but most people aren't scared of that, because they don't imagine for a moment that their relatives might do something like that. People spend all their time worrying about dodgy men in vans asking children if they want to see a puppy (which happens, but is rarer).
One of the children I knew was abused in the toilet at home by their abuser. Cue hysterics when taking to the toilet and shutting the door.

    So it seems.

@Peaceoftheaction666, your posts do come across as seriously transphobic. I must admit that I'm intrigued by the idea of Feral Teens swarming the Birmingham Library, though.

  • Surely "The Feral Teens" would be a great name for a boy band.

No, none. But there is no Ship rule about where we post, why the question?

True, but it may be some indication of a poster's interest in the boards generally, or whether perhaps s/he is trolling, or crusading, or whatever.

If you click on someone's name, and then on their comments, you can see what threads they posted on. PeaceoftheAction666 did post on a Purg thread that someone else started.

Women's toilets don't have urinals, so I don't know what people think will be exposed there. Ireland has self-declared gender and there have been no issues with women's toilets. There have however been cases of women in the UK - including cis women who are more masculine presenting - being attacked in the toilet because they as suspected of being men. No coincidence that US right wing groups fund UK TERFs.

Should also point out that transgender people in the UK at least are expected to use the correct toilet as part of their social transition and can be denied medical treatment by their gender clinic consultant if they do not. So you cannot claim to not hate trans people but also prevent them from using the right toilet since it causes them huge problems with transition (and also bladder and bowel issues as many trans people will simply hold it in instead, which is really bad for your bladder particularly).
  • Hang on, TERFS funded by right wing groups? Citation?
  • Cheers, very useful, as I keep arguing with gender critical people, who are anti-trans, and I hadn't seen these links with the right wing.

I'm starting to get really pissed that any newcomer who doesn't instantly assimilate our board culture or share what are perceived to be prevailing views gets labelled a troll in record time.

This is becoming a habit around here and it's not a good one.
  • As I have already issued such a warning, and there's now an Admin taking an interest, I would suggest the denizens knock it off. Or else.

It seems a barmy thing to do in hell, but congratulations on your transition.
