It came up at the end of March when those of us who'd signed up as the boards started all had to sign in again. The thought is that when the magazine bit is ready all these questions will be answered in the FAQs.
Yes, it's something that we're aware of. The cookie concerned with maintaining logins times out after a month - it wasn't until it started logging people out that we realised it wasn't one month since last activity. Sorting it out is a fair way down our list of things for the tech guys to look at.
I've had to log in twice in two days. The first one was probably the monthly expiration (although the software didn't recognize my password; I had to say I'd forgotten it, and then re-enter it as new), but I'm not sure why it made me log in again today. It again didn't recognize my password, but this time I got away with simply re-entering it.
The original report appears to have been filed on 17 May 2007, which was Ascension Day that year. I don't know why the date would show as 21 December 2017. That appears to be the date when the report was ported over to the new site. It is true that there were certain problems that occurred during the porting process, but substituting one date for another was not one of them so far as I know. It will be interesting to see if such anomalies are discovered in other reports.
Editing the report, I see other problems, so I will correct the date and fix the other problems.
Minor thing. When the Why is the belief in Biblical inerrancy important to people? was moved, it was left on the Purg page. Because it is locked, and one is redirected straight to DH, it retains the new tag for anyone* who did not read it prior.
This is not really a complaint, nor do I think it has any priority. Just noting.
You read a thread on the Ship. You think you're on the last page. You post a reply to someone. It appears on the bottom of the page you're on. But then when you look closer, you see that you were not on the last page, but there were some posts you missed.
You need to refresh immadiately after your post has appeared to make sure, especially if it's a fast-moving thread.
No sorry, this is not about fast-moving threads. It is about threads where no-one else is posting. You think you're on the last page, you post an answer, and then you find out you weren't.
(I'm not asking for changes, just expressing my difficulty in getting used to this.)
It does take you to the last post since you looked, and, if this is not the last page, it is confusing. This might be what you are experiencing.
The old boards did a similar thing, but the new ones seem to be less clear (for some reason). I don't think there is a lot to be done except remember that sometimes you might miss posts if you are not careful.
In my experience, posting my comment will end up showing my post immediately following the last post that I already saw (i.e. the last post as of when I started composing my comment). However, my new post shows as the last one and any posts added by other posters since I started composing mine do not show up at all (until I refresh, as Eutychus suggests). I've seen this happen a number of times, even when it is the last page. So my habit is now to refresh immediately after posting.
When I glance at The Styx pn the main page, I keep seeing this as Software Shagging List. I may be getting to the stage of needing glasses or a cleaner mind
I’m getting something which I’ve not noticed before when I ‘Preview’ a comment. The first couple of lines are inset as if to wrap around my avatar, but the preview appears with an opaque background over the avatar, and only its extreme left hand edge is visible.
Even if this was working properly it doesn’t really make sense as the avatar is not displayed like that anyway when the comment is posted.
I've noticed over the past few days that sometimes when I click a thread in which, say, there are 15 new posts, I get taken to the last post, rather than the first post I have not read. It does not happen all the time, and does not seem to be linked to if the 'new' posts span a page or not. This is on an Android phone.
I see this regularly and I have wondered if it happens when I re-visit a thread during the same web-session. I've not actually experimented on this, though.
I'm getting it too - on my phone, not so much on the laptop. I'd assumed it was another sign my phone is not doing so well. I'm pretty sure it's not revisiting the same thread
When comments are filed on Mystery Worship reports that were ported over from the old site, as opposed to freshly filed on the new site, the software appears to select a photo at random from reports recently filed.
To correct this, I have to edit the report that was commented on and re-upload the photo. Then I have to edit the comment and replace the path to the photo with the correct path after re-upload.
The most recent occurrence of this was the comment filed on St Peter & St Paul, Chingford, London. The photo that the software chose was for St John's, Notting Hill.
This is one of several anomalies that I have noticed in the Mystery Worship software, all of which I have previously reported. I've been silently dealing with them, but it does create work for me and I'm not getting any younger.
Miss Amanda, I for one appreciate the work that goes into these boards and have commented before on speed of posting them. Thank you, that process sounds exasperating.
On my phone (Motorola, Android) it sometimes, rarely, gets stuck when I'm writing some drivel and no buttons (Preview, Save Draft, Post Comment) work. A refresh and all seems good -- like your new window Moo.
A question: the thread "In which Piglet gets ..." seems permanently stuck at the top of my list, with a small blue "i" to the left of it. Can I move/dispose of this in any way?
It's "announced", which means it has recent and newsworthy information on it - most recently, @Barnabas62's temporary leave from hosting. It will be unstickied in a day or so.
After signing in, I click the discussion box and it asks me to sign in again. I do but I can't access via the discussions button after I do. Is anyone else having this problem today?
On the mobile display (cell[phone) of the posting page, there is no "link" icon, which means that if you want to do a nice link you manually have to type in
On my iPhone, I’ve created a couple of keyboard shortcuts which significantly reduce the number of keystrokes needed for a URL. So ‘+u’ gives me [url= and ‘-u’ gives me [/url] and the only other special character I need is a ‘]’ immediately after the URL.

Have dates and whatever cut across properly in Mystery Worshipper? Specifically, the visit to the Canary Wharf Prayer Room (https://shipoffools.com/mystery-worshipper/canary-wharf-prayer-room-docklands-london/) is given as 21 December 2017 - but the service is described as 'Ecumenical Eucharist for Ascension Day'.
I know Ascension Day wanders round the calendar after Easter, but I don't remember Easter 2017 being that late.
Easter 2018 was early.

*At least me
It has been discussed a few times. And yes, it is annoying.
I still haven't gotten used to this.

I currently see 4 pages available in All Saints. But clicking on page 3 or 4 gives me no threads and a "No discussions were found" message. FYI.
"Unknown column 'Active' in 'field list'"

No biggie...just oddly inconsistent.

and again within this non-URL-captured link.
Or can we get the link icon added to the mobile version? Which is I think a preferred solution. It looks like a 2-link chain.
