One thing I missed on my first reading: the honored couple was kneeling at the altar for the whole blessing thing? Maybe their knees turned to hamburger. Maybe?
Lamb Chopped, what an ordeal!!! You handled it admirably, and we had an entertaining story! Now, I'll just pray for mental strengthening and real rest for you.
Heheheheheh. What a book I could write, what a fuss that would make... The problem is, to do it ethically I have to wait until everybody is dead. That's probably the only way I can tell the story of the Threesome That Wasn't without my Lord giving me the hairy eyeball.
Hallelujah! We finally were in the high 60s this morning!! 69.5, but still, it was not in the 80s!!!
Maybe there will be an end to the unpleasant summer heat and humidity!
Anyone else dealing with spotted lanternflies? Where I am (southeastern PA) they have been everywhere this summer. Killing them has become almost an obsession for me, and for others here, but it seems, despite the hundreds I have slain, they are here to stay. I did notice a wolf spider eating one by my front door, so, at least something eats them.
Our weather this September has been more like July. I'm very fed up. Normal September weather is highs in the sixties and lows in the forties. This is my favorite temperature range. This year we have had highs in the mid-eighties and lows in the mid-sixties. The weather forecasters say that when this pattern breaks, it will get colder very quickly.
Here in central Arizona, cooler air has arrived this week (TBTG). However, all the rain that we normally get during the monsoons of July and August but did not this summer, are also here this week. It's the fringe of the latest hurricane, but it's as if Mother Nature has said "Oops! I can't send them fall weather quite yet -- I totally forgot their summer thunderstorms, so I'd better send them as well!" Or perhaps someone* with a Sharpie just changed the hurricane map to include Arizona. (*not mentioning any names here)

I can't imagine who you mean!
I don't know about wolf spiders, but we've had some fairly big specimens round the château lately. In fairness, they have spun some pretty impressive webs in between the rails on the deck.
Today the high temperature was 90°F. I have lived in Blacksburg for twenty-one years and this is the highest temperature I've experienced. We have many summers when the temperature doesn't reach 90°.
Well yet again the local electric company is saying they will turn off power for protection from fire as we are scheduled to have high wind activity over next 24 hours. Then they are offering the advice that it may take up to 5 days to check all the lines before restoring power. Graven Image who is glad she knows how to camp out even if it turns out to be in her own home.
Well that was an adventure. We did well with portable solar panels to charge phone. propane camping stove, and solar rechargeable lights. I packed freezer will lots of ice and all kept well. So glad to have power again, but did not miss not getting those annoying robo calls when electricity was down.
Hopefully not "homework" but a translation needed. In "Highway 61 Revisited" His Bobness sings "We'll just put some bleachers out in the sun." After about 55 years of listening to the song I've just realized I have - had - no idea what this line means. I always thought they were trousers or underwear or something, but Duck Duck Go Images shows rows of benches (which I admit makes more sense). Is this correct?
PS ... Graven Image ... there is a haunting Lone Justice song where Maria McKee sings mournfully "God how I miss those Dixie Storms." I bitterly miss Northern Territory Oz storms with their deafening thunder and 40,000+ foot cumulo nimbus clouds ... are they what you don't miss?
Also, bleachers can be temporary; putting up bleachers is a relatively inexpensive way to quickly install seating for a lot of people. Bleachers are installed for the Grand Prix in my city every year and taken down afterwards.
So in Dylan's song, when the gambler trying to start World War 3 is told by his promoter that they'll just put up bleachers out by the highway, it shows that the promoter sees WW3 as a show with spectators.
I'm glad you asked that, Zappa (and that the ladies answered): I've been wondering what the title of the baseball thread (From the Bleachers) in the Circus meant, but was too embarrassed to ask ...
The bleachers are the cheapest seats in a baseball stadium because they aren't individual chairs, they aren't typically shielded from the sun, and they're out past the outfield, basically looking at the game from the back, with most of the action a long way away.
Here's the view from the bleachers in Yankee Stadium:
Being the cheapest, the bleachers used to be for poorer people who traditionally were the rowdiest fans, but that's changed in some ballparks, which have stopped selling beer in parts of the bleacher sections and/or designated them as family sections where they don't even want you to cuss. Plus some of the more popular teams now charge a lot even for bleacher seats. But the connotations of sitting in the bleachers still stand for those well versed in the traditions of baseball, as Hedgehog is.

Me too. I enjoyed meeting her when she visited Phoenix and joined a group of us on a Mystery Worship expedition.
LC, you deserve several medals.
<notworthy>
Seriously, I could do with a few prayers. The nightmares are real, and I'm feeling a bit fragile mentally right now.
Bad Lyda.
On another note: damn insomnia.
Oh my LC! What a story! I hope this and other events are being collected for a book.
Meh. Lost opportunities...
Maybe there will be an end to the unpleasant summer heat and humidity!
Also, no spotted lanernflies.
I'm pretty sure wolf spiders can be found pretty much anywhere where humans live. They're pretty big but don't have webs.
I am thoroughly disgruntled.

Nice temperatures too: the max today was 15° (59° in old money).
I want some nice fall weather, dammit.
