    I trust your find our tokenism suitably opppressive.

  • Is there a take-a-number system for oppression? I can't find the number tickets, and desperately want to be oppressed.

    The dispenser is empty. Tough.

    I really don't want to know what you do with your tongue, to guests or otherwise.
  • You're oppressing me by not oppressing me! God, that feels so good.
  • Oh, you kinky beast.
  • I find your calling me a kinky beast to be oppressive.
  • Whatever turns you off.
  • More! More! I'm never satisfied.

    Enough with your fake oppression. Don't you know that people who are really oppressed take offense at the possibility that fake oppressees might have a discussion somewhere on the internet about their fake needs with fake in-jokes?

    I mean come on you people. Pull yourself together, admit your privilege and then shut up.
  • We take all types, here, honey. Wanna hang your whip on the wall?

    Ooh, you are naughty.... but I like you.

    God, that dates me.

    Awful. It's awful. Nothing is more oppressive than an erroneous, unchecked, insouciant Mandy quote. Yooooou oppressive bastard.

    I'm definitely oppressed. I'll figure out the specifics of how and why later on.

    Spreadsheet?

    Can I see your terms and conditions in writing? Is there a sign on the wall I can peruse?
  • RuthRuth Shipmate
    We're talking about oppression here, mousethief. No, you can't see the terms and conditions in writing! You'll accept them sight unseen, and you'll like it.
  • I don't want to like it. I want to feel oppressed.

    I used to want to plant bombs at the Last Night of the Proms;
    But now you'll find me with the baby;
    in the bathroom;
    with the big shell listening to the sound of the sea.

    Do you still wear stilettos?

    You don't get what you want when you're oppressed. And the most insidious oppression is the one you embrace.

    @Robert Armin: For you I don't wear stilettos! I wear sensible, clunky flats. Oppression, remember?

    Sheesh! Some of you are very unclear on the concept here.

    It was a long time ago! Now you're oppressing me because my memory is not what it was. Anyway, I wasn't that big a fan of Frankie Howard.
  • I'm oppressed, repressed, suppressed, and depressed.

    But the stilettos were so painful! Don't they count?

    Robert, Robert, you poor, sad man, you missed the message. Ruth is not inflicting pain on herself - you are the target. Besides which clunky shoes pack a punch.
  • But not as much pain as the stilettos do, when she walks on me. You're oppressing me by not understanding!
  • ok, bruiser.

    Well you can't. Is that oppressive enough for you?

    In my experience, stilettos oppress the wearer more than anyone else.

    Definitely Rossweisse. My balance has never been good enough for stilettos mainly because I have petite feet and 4 or 5 inch heels would have me standing on tiptoes.
  • I remember the first time I read about foot binding. I think it was in Wild Swans. Stilettos kind of remind me of that.

    Well I enjoy wearing killer heels and I don’t understand why you aren’t all oppressing me a bit more about it.

    Same here. In addition, because of scoliosis, my left leg is shorter than my right, and I have to have a lift on that shoe. You can't put a lift on a stiletto heel.

    They don't make telescoping stilettos? Sad.

    It is academic, because I wouldn't want to wear stilettos. (Stiletti?) I'm into comfort and being able to move easily.
  • Move easily? That's what your flying horse is for.

    I don't feel oppressed. But I DO find many, many things oppressive. Any suggestions on how I can a aquire a higher level of consciousness about this?
