I am in hospital.
I have flu AND pneumonia. I didn't even know that was possible.
Truckloads of drugs are
working but no Hannukka or Christmas miracles.
Prayers, candles, thoughts ... anything are desperately needed
For @Galilit and @Alex Cockell and all that need our prayers.
My brother now has a blood clot on his lung. The hospital think they’ve got it sorted, but it doesn’t do a lot to aid the festive mood for his wife , son and us.
Thank you, Telepath, for updating all of us on current requests. You are doing a sterling job there.
Might I ask you for prayers for a particular, somewhat dramatic, local issue here, on this late Christmas Eve. For details, please see my report on the Cool Britannia thread.
Our big local village church is currently on fire, or rather, the steeple was, was supposed to have been extinguished, but the fire started again, and the steeple crashed onto the church roof, which in turn caught fire. Only material damage so far, some of the more valuable items could be moved out to a safe place. - However, now, at nearly 2am, the fire not quite out yet, it has started to get rather stormy, and the firefighters must be totally exhausted by now.
A prayer or two for the firefighters and everyone involved, and for their safety would be appreciated, ... especially as it is Christmas.
Thank you very much.
<votive> for all in need, posting on this thread, or not.
NB. Please, let us also pray for the heroic firefighters in Australia, with the giant bushfires there right now!
Prayers ascending for all who face the fires that test us, real or metaphorical. That the message of a Christmas would gain, not lose, relevance in the crucible of the real.
My brother has been sent to intensive care and is very ill. We’re on the motorway to see mother in law having spent last night with SiL and nephew, so can’t help. Worried both about brother and SIL driving to hospital.
Thank you for your swift, soothing prayers to our local church fire.
The fire was exinguished before dawn, and luckily no one was injured, except a small injury suffered by a firefighter. Drone pictures in the news this morning show the extent of the damage, which will be close to £1m.
But again, this is only material damage, and nothing anywhere close to Notre Dame, Paris.
So thanks be to God for damage limitation and keeping people safe.
<votives> for all, and for each and every request. May God give plentiful to those in need, and aren't we all!
I've just had an email from Ross asking me to post a prayer request - she's had problems swallowing today, and is in the Emergency Room waiting for a CT scan. They think there's a possibility that she has an obstruction, and she says she's getting concerned.
I am home, thank you. I'm not feeling great, and the oncologist is threatening more tests tomorrow. (Fortunately, he's off at the new "Star Wars" movie this afternoon with his children.) Your prayers are greatly appreciated.
Prayers for @Rossweisse and all facing medical emergencies this Christmas. My brother is still in a high dependency unit but a lot better than yesterday. He was cracking jokes when I visited this afternoon.

I ask your prayers that the change in anti-nausea drugs today will do the trick. It's been a rough couple of days, but today was better.
