His latest utterances on the 'Is the church past its sell-by date?' thread are even more obscure than usual.

I'm not sure he is capable of answering any question with a straight 'Yes' or 'No'...

    Try me.

Well, are you? Yes or No!

It's fucking flat-earth lunacy. Only flat-earth lunatics usually have some kind of phony evidence to support their conspiracy theories.
  • Yeah. Flat universe actually.
  • That the nonsense is confined to that one thread is probably too much to hope for.
  • What, round here?

I think that's a Martinesque straight answer... :flushed:

  • I have wondered, more than once, seriously, what Martin is like IRL. Not good conversation, I should think. Perhaps SoF is a safety valve for all that is roiling beneath the surface. "He was a quiet sort... kept to himself, mostly..."

Got me in one, a shrieking stumbling introvert, alone with me pawn collection. Will you be my friend? Will you? Eh? I've taken me meds. Honest. Will you? Nobody else will. Why? Will you?

You're nice aren't you? What if I were? Not nice. But bad conversation.

@sionisais, abuse is better than neglect. And don't feed the troll...
  • Okay, answer yes or no to these for starters.
    1. Do you read through your posts before posting them?
    2. Are you an attention seeker and thus actually like it that you are called to hell?

Others may ignore or decide to post their yes/no questions.
  • yes
    no

The idea that abuse is better than neglect may be one of the drivers behind the Stockholm Syndrome. As for trolls, some are hungrier than others.

But its true. It isn’t an idea. Anyone who ever had a three year old understands this. If the child can’t get positive attention by acting in a manner that triggers the parental reward feedback, then the child will act out and trigger the punishment feedback because negative attention is better than no attention.

Its also the operating principle behind “no such thing as negative press”. Howard Sterns haters famously drove his ratings. Fans would tune in for one or two hours but his haters would listen fo4 the entire length o& the show.

Attention is a life enhancing energy resource and unless we recognize it as such we just charge it with our emotions and spray it around at anything and anyone that makes a bid for it and wonder why we have no time or energy to devote to our own life enhancement.

This is confusing "abuse is better than neglect" with "the victim prefers abuse to neglect." They aren't the same thing.

Got me in one, a shrieking stumbling introvert, alone with me pawn collection.

If you're serious about playing with yourself, you'll also need Kings, Queens, Rooks, Bishops and Knights.

You could probably play draughts with a sufficient number of pawns. Or Russian politics.
