I would rather enjoy lhe legal fight, once the danger of new violence and insurrection recedes.

Oh, I dunno. Having read some transcripts of what happens when attorneys question You-Know-Who under oath in other legal proceedings, I suspect the results will be more frustrating and confusing than enlightening.

To be blunt, given the man's relationship with fact and truth is there any point in relying on answers given "under oath"? He's clearly a man who sees the face of his god staring back from the mirror and the evidence is overwhelming that he feels "the truth" is whatever he decides it to be, depending on mood, time, and expedience.

Relying on the answers? No. Putting him away for perjury? Absolutely.

The deadline for counties to certify their results is 15 January, so it can't happen earlier unless every county in the state decides to get a hurry-on. The deadline for certifying the overall results after that is 22 January.
Oh good Lord. You mean the election isn't over yet? :fearful:
  • The debates involved Kelly Loeffler, who was voted out in the run-off election and was originally planning to protest the election results as part of the certification process in Senate, but changed her mind following the riots at the Capitol - link to NYT

But when he is no longer a sitting President he can be jailed for Perjury or Obstruction of Justice ...

I saw an interesting quote attributed to Warnock today. He was asked how he can be an uniter. He said
"When you can get people who like anthems and people who like contemporary gospel music to work together, you can do anything."

I have no reliable source for this, that is why I say the quote is attributed to Warnock.

Depends how you define an election: by when the votes are all cast, or by when the votes are all counted.

Lots of elections take a while by the latter measure. We only notice when the outcome is sufficiently close for the last votes to affect it.

Relatedly when do the old ones (Kelly) lose their passes.

    As far as I know:

Perdue's term has ended, and he is no longer a senator. Ossoff has not yet been sworn in as his replacement, so this spot is currently vacant.

Loeffler was appointed to the senate in 2019, and holds her seat until the conclusion of the special election process, so she remains a senator until Warnock's election is ratified.
