Camelon, which is as far west as you can go when the whole of Glasgow's in Nidd.

Not to be confused with Camelot, or worse yet, Cameloff.

I am tempted to replay Piglet's illustrious move to (completely) Barking but since we are already there perhaps a short trip to Liverpool Street is in order.

That was me. I'll use the Vortex created by that move to take us to Haverthwaite
  • There's only one thing for it. Trumper's Crossing Halte.

This is where it gets tricky.

IF the defaulting suit is reasonably split between dealer and declarer, then we've got a safe en passant diagonal capture taking us firmly onto North London turf, with MC in sight. However, in these random turn internet games, there's less safety in that, and every chance that Lady Luck will be busy forcing a ham croissant down her neck in between meetings and not available when required. So I'm going to bank on only requiring her not to sew prawns into my curtain hems.

    Has to be Oval
  • Sometimes Lady Luck smiles, the suit splits oddly, and you did invoke the rule that allows this, Angel

This an ideal time for the Half-Nelson Interchange Gambit

Yet again! This seems to be getting terminally circular... so obviously Hammersmith.

(edited from Paddington - apparently I can't read today)
  • KarlLBKarlLB Shipmate
Oh you had to say it...

    Dollis Hill

Two pairs or three of a kind to break the loop...

Sorry folks... obvious colonial newbie mistake. Off to El Escorial to do penance.

    Dollis Hill

Altogether now - not the Dollis Hill Loop...
  • "not the Dollis Hill Loop..."
There you go. Hmmm... The community chest suggests we should be OK with Mount Florida

If we’re going in circles, Cowcaddens seems to be as good a place to stop by as any. And I’ve always wanted to say “Cowcaddens” on the Internet.
  • Birkenhead Hamilton Square
  • Which leads nicely to Clifton Down. I've been waiting a while to play that....

I know there isn't really any point, as all the shops are shut, but at least it'll be quiet:

    Oxford Circus
  • KarlLBKarlLB Shipmate
Well, that straddle blocks the Bakerloo shunt, so the loop is suspended for three frames.

Naturally the Closed Station rule is now valid (entirely Piglet's fault) so Aldwych
  • Which leads to British Museum, passes a green chip to Marsupial
  • Green... dill pickles... so obviously Piccadilly Circus.

    Lavenders blue, dilly, dilly
    Lavender's green
When I am king, dilly, dilly
    You shall be queen ...

So Queen's Park. I think the Bakerloo has re-opened, otherwise you'll have to use the Overground.

    Watford Met

    Again.

Yes, I know, but maintaining that three-way lateral straddle is going to result in the whole tunnel running part of the network going into spoon.

Should be safe to plunge back under the North Circular now.
  • Park Royal then - mere yards inside said road!
  • la vie en rougela vie en rouge Circus Host, 8th Day Host
Ha ha! <fishes out pile of blue chips I had hidden under the table>

That enables me to reverse triangulate to Hyde Park Corner
  • KarlLBKarlLB Shipmate
Getting back out without being shunted into Nidd is going to be a bugger though.

    So Marble Arch it is.

You can use bus termini from here of course but at a two undertrick penalty.
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
I'm not at all sure that hiding one's blue chips under the table is quite cricket. But seeing we're not playing cricket (yet), I'm going to attempt something daring:

    Oval
  • Southfields. The cognoscenti will know why.
  • Hmm, Perivale and pass a pear to Piglet
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
    Thank you. <chomp, chomp>

    Dagenham Heathway

Actually, I've no idea why I said that ...
  • Mansion House seems to be a good place to be in a lockdown.
  • la vie en rougela vie en rouge Circus Host, 8th Day Host
The blocker's feint. Very impressive :sunglasses:

I believe I am now in a position to huff over to the Bakerloo line. Waterloo.
  • I’ve always liked the name Maida Vale.
  • Mudchute.
  • That obviously must be followed by Hounslow Central and hands a hotdog to a host.
  • la vie en rougela vie en rouge Circus Host, 8th Day Host
    <chomps> Thanks!

If @Piglet wanted the hotdog she should have got here first.

While I'm here, Shepherd's Bush. The Circle is now in spoon.
  • Salisbury, for the sheep. (And maybe the Father Willis organ as well.)
  • We had one of them at school (a Father Willis organ, not a sheep)!

Hence: Elstree and Borehamwood (though it's a fair and hilly trot away).
  • KarlLBKarlLB Shipmate
So that's reverse shunts off the table for a while then.

Dare I go Embankment I wonder?
  • Best not this near to Burns Night. Back to Barrow Hill Roundhouse for you.
  • Sheffield Park and collect a gold chip.
  • In honour of Mr. Burns, Mallaig.
  • Wouldn't Ayr be better?
  • Probably. (I admit I was thinking more of the journey than the destination itself.)
  • Yes, a great journey indeed.
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
... If @Piglet wanted the hotdog she should have got here first.
No worries, La Vie - one hotdog every couple of years is quite sufficient for me.

    Speaking of dogs,

    Battersea

  • Tower Gateway
  • Turnham Green and toss two greengages to guests [i.e., people watching but not participating]
  • PigletPiglet All Saints Host, Circus Host
    Green Park
  • Last Wednesday in January, so Oxford Circus should yield bonus points.
  • Cambridge Heath. Just mix some white into the paint.
  • Three no-trumps and fives are wild....
