    I have a similar struggle with Romans 8 😔

This is probably another stupid question; unanswerable in finite terms, but what is it about this present life that leads you know it as an afterlife rather than one more step along the way?

It's just a silly little play on words. This life came after the one that went before it, so it's an afterlife.

😁 That’s a relief. I was starting to worry that I’d missed the memo.

My problem with my past is that I tend to recall the bad stuff more than the good stuff. Do you get the same issue with past lives and if not, what’s the secret?

It's been my observation that past life memories are made available on a strictly need-to-know basis. I have no control. It's all orchestrated from a higher dimension.

For reasons that you state, traumas resurface and the neural circuitry they carve tends to prejudice emotional and reasoning responses. So recalling past-life shit is not really productive for advancing current-life narratives unless the recall serves a critical current-day purpose, such as discharging a persistent trauma that resurfaces over more than one lifetime.

I have lots of good memories, that usually surface when I meet someone I have a good association with. It's always comforting to meet old friends in new skins and to know they are still doing life and having their experiences.

That’s a shame. I was hoping that there was a way to control (typical male desire 😉) the recall of past lives out of need rather than need-to-know. I would like to be able to run a suitably uplifting montage in my head rather than the usual series of D’oh! moments that are my personal Tripledent Gum.

I’m expressing this in visual terms. Are your recalls mainly thoughts/sudden convictions/impressions or are senses involved- either normally or synesthetically?

Here's how I like to describe it.

Recall an important event - good or bad.

Observe the information that is instantly available in the moment of recall. In less than a second, there is a full emotional physical and sensory download that comes with it.

Often the cue is environmental. A song playing on the radio in the waiting room of Canadian Tire while you're having the car's tires rotated can trigger a flood of emotional and sensory information.

Oh God. I remember this song was playing when we were breaking up at the Outback Steakhouse in Dilworth.

You can remember everything. What you were wearing, what was on the plate in front of you. The half filled glass of wine you were never going to finish because your stomach was in a knot. The look of sadness and disbelief on your soon-to-be-ex partner's face.

It all drops in front of you and into you as if it was "only yesterday".

Remembering something from a past life is essentially the same, in my experience.

  • That’s helpful and food for thought. Thank you for taking the time to explain it so eloquently.
  • My pleasure. Thank you for asking!

I concur with Ken of blessed memory whenever MB is mentioned.

I'm sure I do too, whatever he said. And I can imagine...
