I moved 11 days ago and put my old house on the market last Thursday. I wanted to ask for a higher price than my Realtor did since houses are selling like crazy at ridiculous prices, and he rather reluctantly agreed. Several offers have come in in the past four days (I don't know all of the details about them), but today a young couple made an offer higher than my asking price(!), and included a really nice letter to me saying how they fell in love with my house as soon as they walked in. They're engaged and want to start a family and add several pets -- in my house! I'm thrilled with the price, and also with their attitude about my beloved house. So -- prayers please, that this all works out for everyone.

Wow, how lovely! Praying all goes well for you and that family 🕯
That's lovely, Pigwidgeon - I know it shouldn't make a difference who buys your house, but when it's someone you like and they've fallen in love with it, it's a really good feeling.
Something similar happened when we sold my dad's house: the young couple who bought it absolutely adored it as it was (more than we did, in fairness - it was very dated and in need of a bit of TLC).

How lovely! This happened - eventually - when selling Nenlet1 and son in law's house. The couple who ended up buying it said that if they couldn't have that house they wouldn't be moving.
That's great news @Pigwidgeon. I felt awful when I discovered the couple who'd bought our lovely flat several moves ago had had a row and broke the rather nice stained glass panel in the door. I hope you're enjoying your new place and settling in well.
We could do with some moving prayers. We move out of this place tomorrow, but haven't the foggiest when we can move into our new place, though our furniture can on Wednesday.
Thanks for all the good wishes! The papers have been signed, but a buyer has the right to back out any time before the final papers (and payment!), which will be in a month.
How come your furniture can be moved in but you can't?
I was wondering that too, @Sarasa. Prayers for your moving today, and we wont expect you to come on board to answer while you are so busy!
Prayers for the @North East Quine family in their loss (see the Aging parents thread) and for the Beakies and @NicoleMR.
I've been absent for a while due to spending four weeks in hospital with a massive subphrenic abscess. I've never been so ill.
I've still got dreadful abdominal pain, but I've had that for three years. The upside of having been in hospital is that it is now under investigation to find out the cause & put it right.
Thanks for the continuing prayers. I'm so grateful.
If you could, please spare a prayer for C, my littlest great-nephew, who's in hospital having had bad tummy trouble, now diagnosed as colitis, but they haven't found out why yet.
He's not quite three months old, v. cute and a wee trouper.
Thanks all who prayed, my surgery went well as far as I can tell, and they didn't have to take my lymph nodes, so that's good. I see the surgeon Friday to find out more.
o God what have I done
I broke the ground on my PhD corrections on Friday
Made a tiny amount of progress on Sunday
Spent all of Monday until wee hours of Tuesday recording and uploading a conference presentation (a pox on those who demand pre-recordings, and a pox that inevitably when you upload them in plenty of time, they email you the next morning demanding "waah where are the files, if we don't get them now we'll have to withdraw the paper")
Now I'm in trouble, the bound copy has to be in by September and I've barely started. HLEP
Thanks for prayers for C - he's home from hospital, and they're going to try feeding him on formula to see if it's some sort of intolerance to something my niece had eaten.
Prayers for you @Telepath - that you'll be able to get your head into the right space and power through those corrections with phenomenal speed and efficacy.
Asking prayers for my daughter, who has just broken up with her boyfriend and is desolate. Please pray especially that she will eat, as being upset always manifests itself in feeling sick at the sight of food, (with me it would be the opposite!) and she has not got a lot of spare weight to lose.
Cathskitten is awaiting the arrival of The Giraffe, her brother, for a couple of nights and has purchased two inflatable swans so that they can go to Portobello beach (and hopefully return there without a lifeboat). In other words while she is still hurting a lot she is doing the Right Things. And her super flatmate is making her food. Thank you for your heartfelt prayers, I am sure they are helping.
Thanks for your prayers for I. As far as I can tell her main injury from being crushed is that her leg was fractured in many places but there is also trauma from the experience. I saw her briefly yesterday when she came to their business for a cousin's birthday do and today she was restless to be back in the kitchen despite not being able to stand or walk. Please continue with your prayers. She and her husband are special people.
