The Bible - is it Holy or Sacred or both or neither?

A question for me is what does describing the bible as Holy or Sacred add to our interpretation of its meaning. Nothing at all, I would suggest.

My more general observation is that many protestants, having rejected the authority of the papacy, have tended to exaggerate the status of scripture to compensate for that rejection in their search for an alternative authority. Such final authority, however, does not exist outside God himself.
  • I love the litotes.
  • It's a source of inspiration by the divine, and if we see that then we make it sacred. Other traditions do the same with the texts they make sacred.
  • Like life then.
  • Yes, in some way everything is sacred.
  • Aye, what we bring to the party. It's not there of course.
