Actually, I'm scratching my head a little. Is it pragmatically possible for an argument to be hypocritical? If an argument contradicts itself, it is inconsistent. For something to be hypocritical, actions need to not match words. Arguments don't have actions. Ergo, all charges of hypocrisy are de-facto referring to people. Therefore, any mention of hypocrisy is attacking a person.

Arguments can contain special pleading exceptions that look awfully similar to hypocrisy. The politician who campaigns against abortion whilst paying for his mistress to have a therapeutic medical procedure is a hypocrite. The politician who campaigns for the legal personhood of zygotes but exempts those produced in IVF? That's basically the same action. Can I not call it a hypocritical argument?
I think we've probably talked through the subject of sharing personal information and the use of that by others in discussions as much as is profitable. And, at the end of the day we're back to repeating what is already in the FAQs about personal information
Can I share information about my personal circumstances?
Remember this is a public space that anyone can read. If you share things about your personal circumstances, then you open yourself up to having those circumstances discussed in the same way as anything else on these boards. Other posters are encouraged to respect statements about personal circumstances and take into account the cost involved to the person making them, but this cannot be guaranteed. If it is judged to be necessary, the hosts and admins will rule that discussion of a personal post is off limits or delete the material shared.

Any time that people would like to just let this festering boil fade back to the wee blemish it originally was would be lovely.
And, with that I'm going to close this thread.
