I would appreciate prayers for my Beloved Goddaughter. Her mother has threatened to overdose three times in the last 8 months, the first two times she set the pills out and Beloved had to talk her out of taking them. This morning she had them in her mouth and Beloved had to get her to spit them out. She makes sure Goddaughter knows what is happening each time, so I don't think they are serious attempts as much as a cry for help to Beloved. I think she may be panicking at the prospect of Beloved leaving home to go to University in 2020. But Beloved's life chances are extremely limited if she can't access further education.
Please would you pray for a very dear friend of ours, M., and his elderly mother, J, also well known and loved by us. J has had a massive stroke, leaving her unable to communicate, and M. asks for prayer for discernment and good judgment in the days and weeks ahead, if and when difficult decisions have to be made.
Lifting them, their family, and others in similar situations, in God's love.
My Aunt Jon (only blood Aunt I have) died last night She had Parkinson's and was in South Africa. Out of a family of five, there is now only my Mum and her littlest brother left. Please pray for my Uncle C who will be winding up her estate.
Please pray for my sister who today will have to tell Mum her sister has died. Mum could respond a number of ways due to severe dementia. She may not understand, she may take it soberly or she may be very upset. My sister want to have enough response so she can assure Dad that Mum has been told and understood. Then Dad will not try and tell her again a process that would distress both him and mum.

Asking for prayers for a minor but difficult setback: a large freelance project was suddenly cancelled just as we were beginning work on it and the Financial Monster has moved in. No safety nets for freelancers and although I might have found another writing/editing assignment, I can't hope for payment for several months. In need of fortitude and my vanished sense of humour.

Thank you for your prayers! They worked; I haven't had such a smooth flight in a long time, and the trip was wonderful.
Reportedly they are searching for her body. It's unlikely that it will be found. But finding it would be the only way to determine whether her state of mind was a reaction to antimalarial drugs.
The only thing anyone can do for her now is understand what happened. Let them at least be able to do that.
Oh, Telepath! That's horrible. Officialdom does seem to be a bit quick in denying that the drugs could have had anything to do with it, Prayers ascending for her and all who loved her.
Also a brief update on Little Beaky- having endured the situation since May and making no discernible progress his courageous parents have taken the situation in hand and changed his diet. The medics are split in opinion about the wisdom of this but the last three days have seen a significant decrease in his pain levels. There is considerable distance to go with getting the surgery for the stomach peg and the diet is not as calorific as it needs to be long term but he is no longer screaming with pain and hitting his stomach and has even started to giggle again.
Prayers for Alana Cutland. I have been on mefloquine, and it certainly played with my mind, though not to the degree that some of my friends have experienced (sometimes unbearable). Suicidal ideation was a possible side effect listed on my pharmicist's 'essay'. The good Col's dismissal of an antimalarial's role in this story is, erm, premature (pre-emptive?).
Praying for those affected by the El Paso mass shooting in Texas, those killed, their families, those injured or traumatised. Praying too that active steps might be taken to address the social factors leading to these attacks.
Prayers for Jess ( and Alexander my Kind of Godson) in hospital with premature labour (whatever they call it) at 25+ weeks.
First baby and that by IVF. At the moment the situation seems to have stabilised with excellent medical interventions.
