    I went to an Evensong at Lincoln a few years ago and we two were the only members of the public there.

    Anglican cathedrals' weekday Evensongs are, it seems, often not exactly well-attended, BUT the point is that prayer is offered, publicly.

    I note that Box Pew carefully does not exclude the choir members from being part of the congregation, which, of course, they are.
