Er - how classic is the clay origin? When did it date from?
Something else I haven't been able to work out is when Wonder Woman first started being able to fly. Was it as late as the eighties?
Meanwhile, new Ultimate Spider-Man continues to have not a lot happen in a really entertaining way.
I've also been catching up with Mackay's Moon Knight in trade issues which is suitably on the edge of weird.
Another valuable view of Wonder Woman as a cultural icon is Jill Lapore's brilliant book: The Secret History of Wonder Woman. She is not just a comic book hero.
As I understand it from Marston’s granddaughter, Lapore has things in there that are simply not true. I would not rely on that book. There’s a lot that is true and has been public knowledge for a very long time, notably Marston having two relationships and the (awesome) bdsm aspects in both those and in the comic, both Elizabeth and Olive remaining family and raising their kids together after Marston’s death, but not that E and O were romantically involved with each other.
I've not looked into the matter, but until I do, I'm inclined to take Lapore's word.
*Obviously, Lapore is looking at Wonder Woman not as her biographer. She is really looking at Maston and his comic's effect on feminism. She is also looking as a feminist who studies the lives of women, so her focus even on Maston will have to do with feminism. I checked my copy. I don't think, for example, that WW's ability to fly was of interest in this book.
*I work regularly with historians and see how they work. They are obsessive researchers, relentless bloodhounds who seek sources or confirmation for the most obscure piece of minutiae. Everything must be checked.
*While self-styled historians can make it up as they go along, good ones don't, and they document like crazy. I've read a few of her books. Lapore is of the latter type, and she has a lot to lose if she's shown to be making up "alternative facts". If you doubt her claim, she likely has a footnote to an if-at-all-possible accessible source.

"Prove her wrong" is the best strategy.
I'll keep your assessment of bdsm in mind.
Re BDSM, and the “loving submission” aspects of original WW, people’s tastes and views will vary, of course…
I’m happy to report that I have it on good authority that “I am also the child of a god” refers to the apotheosis of Diana’s mother Hippolyta, so while this is not absolutely confirmed, her clay origin may be still in play. Yay!
Green Arrow #15
Batman: Off-World #5
Zero Hour 30th-Anniversary Special #1
All New Collectors' Edition #C-56 (Superman/Muhammad Ali, which I've never read)
X-Men #3
Fantastic Four #24
NYX #2
Marvel 85th Anniversary Special #1
The Savage Sword of Conan #4
I do t actually read a lot of comic books, or their Japanese counterpart the manga. But I have read a few. I’m a fan of Heavy Metal. I also enjoyed the stuff by Alan Moore through Avatar such as Yuggoth Cultures and other Growths. I also enjoyed stuff by Zenescope. But on the less adult themed comics I did enjoy the few Alien series through Dark Horse Comics.
I also like Elf Quest the eco fantasy comics.
On the Japanese side Higurashi: When They Cry is my favorite since 2006.
I don’t enjoy superhero stuff really. I’ve not seen most of the avenger style films and I’ve not read a single one of their comics as far as I know.
There was me thinking, "I don't read comics these days", when, all of a sudden, the latest, 'Church Times' plopped through the door.
End of smug attack!

I think @RockyRoger is being rude about the level of the content. Mind you if that's the one that had St Gargoyles in, that was always good for a laugh.

Oh, there are comics that are startlingly intellectual, whether inspiring or disturbing (or perhaps both)...
I was indeed being rude about the Church Times, which can irritate me greatly. Especially the letters. St Gargoyles continues and often raises a smile.
Mrs RR reminded me that I have other comics. "What?" I exclaimed. She then listed off, to my shame, "Radio Times, HiFi news and AeroModeller".
"Well", I said, " I have to put something in the bottom of the Cats' litter trays".

On balance, Dan Dare is better ...
