This report captures Edington very well. As fiend of a former curate., I used to spend the entire week there. This first Compline is one of the best.

Are we sure it's a typo? I have a picture of Leo pushing gargoyles off the organist loft to hit the fiend below...

    Sound wondrous.

And a good corrective to my general belief that all organs are ye olde; new ones continue to be made...
  • Edington Priory is perhaps a little unusual, in that it is (out of Festival time), a simple 'village' church, with a variety of Anglican services depending on which Sunday of the month it happens to be.

Without wishing to Cast Nasturtiums on the efforts of the clergy and laity to keep the rumour of God alive in this part of England, I wonder what sort of local support their splendid church attracts week-by-week?

I have attended outside festival time - always a eucharist as the main service at Edington and a turnout of about 30 - very welcoming.
  • Well, good for them - not bad at all by today's standards, and full marks for the welcome!

Thanks for your report - which prompts me to plan a visito the Priory next time I am in that neck of the woods.
