Ah well ... Bach helps but I'm finding this tough.

    Sending hugs

I like the idea of monastic and neo-monastics living in community and doing 'normal' jobs or voluntary work as part of their vocation.

    Have you heard of Beguines?
  • Yes. I was impressed by the Beguinage in Bruges.

I have some songs that remind me of people. Though sometimes it feels like hanging around with ghosts.

@Gamma Gamaliel I think the Anglican first-order Franciscans do a lot with living in community and doing "normal" work as part of their vocation.

I don't come onto this thread generally as my own alone-ness is so different in terms of context, so I don't think I would have anything particularly helpful to add. But I wanted to say that I'm sorry that your relationship with your friend hasn't worked out. It sounds like she has a lot going on right now; chronic illness can be especially exhausting. I wonder if a break and some distance might help - but I'm sorry you're having to go through this.
  • Thanks Pomona.
