I have a neighbour, Sally who lives in the same street whom I mainly meet at the bus stop. We have had several deep conversations as we travel on the bus together. Yesterday as I approached the stop I saw her and my heart lifted because we had missed meeting up since lockdown. She told me she has terminal bowel cancer.
Please can I ask for prayers for Sally and her husband and grown up family.
Praying through, for all in need: for stranded college students; for G; for @Lamb Chopped (always!); for Huia's Sally and family; and for anyone I may have missed. (Okay, for Donald Trump and his minions. I know, God, I know...)
Praying for Huia's Sally, for @Lamb Chopped and @Rossweisse and @Robert Armin. Prayers too for my beloved daughter who has just been on the phone telling me that she is having a Covid test today as a friend she had for dinner last week and then drove home has tested positive. She is more scared of negotiating the roundabouts on the road to Edinburgh airport (test centre) than the test itself.
I'd particularly like to pray for the safety of certain people who are about to engage in a debate in obviously dangerous conditions. And for the safety of all those exhaled upon in this fiasco.
Just made two applications which could both be life changing in their own way.
I have just heard that the Cathskitten has a negative test - thanks to all. She still feels rubbish, but it will just be a cold. Praying for others whose test results have not bees so good.
Number One Son ( the beekeeper) has started to call himself an agnostic (rather than an atheist).
Seeing and living through the racism, bigotry and stupidity of religion-in-general here (some of it directed at his own tiny self) ... it was not surprising he gave The Whole Thing a very wide berth all his life.
(Apart from his saintly, Guardian-reading, gin-drinking, NRSV/REB-reading mother of course!)
A mate at work is asking him a lot about the Hebrew Scriptures (on their long drives between hives) and it's got him asking me to send his Army Bible ...
We will see where it goes.
In the meantime ... prayers for his process
Prayers for your beekeeper Galilit. Some believers give religion such a bad name it's a wonder it survives - but then there are also some who are inspiring. I have been fortunate to meet mainly the latter.
My health is quite bad at the moment. I'm still shielding and isolating which is tough and the constant banging every day for 18-20+, 7 days a week isn't helping. Recordings still being sent up to 10 times daily to the Housing Association, but they haven't been in touch since they basically said they couldn't do anything 5 or 6 weeks ago. My threats to involve the ombudsman, my MP and start a social media campaign fell on deaf ears. The reality is that I can't do much at the moment because I'm so ill. Prayers appreciated. I probably won't be online for a while as I need to rest as much as I can.

I'm fine. I don't know about the ex; my daughter hasn't volunteered any information and I haven't wanted to ask lest I seem prying or morbid.
