Praying for all affected by Covid, specially @MaryLouise.
My friend H's husband R died at the weekend. He'd been seriously ill, so not a surprise, but hard all the same.
My brother K has gone into hospital today to try and sort out once and for all the on-going saga of his failure to recover from cancer surgery last year. It's not the cancer, it's the original operation that caused all the problems. It would be good if he didn't have to spend most of his time in bed.
Prayers for everyone else that needs them, specially those who feel they cannot ask.
For all in Beirut.
I was there just under 9 years ago -- a wonderful city with wonderful people. And a country that seems to have got more than its fair share of trouble over many years.
For me: trying to sort out whether to keep or reschedule an upcoming dental cleaning, due to risk of Covid. (I'm in multiple "vulnerable" risk groups.) They need to know today. I'm in the midst of reading related advice online.
Praying through, for all (you know who you are) by name.
I received word this morning that I'd been in contact with two people who had tested positive for COVID-19. I had to go in and get swabbed; I got an "expedited test" ('cause I'm special, and should have the results Friday morning.
Your prayers that I come up negative would be greatly appreciated (I have enough on my plate, really), and for L and B, my friends.
This is causing a lot of discombobulation with my caregivers, one of whom was literally hyperventilating when my morning aide informed her; I finally told her to go home, even though I'm not supposed to be alone, because she was so distraught. (She's asthmatic, and lives with an aged grandmother.) She's one of my favorites, and I feel terrible for her.
Adding my prayers for @Rossweisse and her aide. Thank you for the prayers for my friend H and my brother K. H is working her way through the inevitable post death admin but seems to be coping OK. My brother's op seems to have gone well in that he was sending me messages being sarky about other patients on his ward a few hours later, which seems a good sign.
I ask your prayers for my dear friends B and L, who both tested positive. B is pretty sick; L is not doing well (understatement alert!) with being locked down completely.
My oncologist called early this evening in an agitated state to tell me that the nurses' policy is that I cannot come in for treatment for 21 days. I'm supposed to have an infusion on Monday and another one two weeks later. If I have to miss two treatments in a row, I might not live long enough to vote in November. Please pray that said oncologist finds a way around the nurses' policy!

For the situation in Beirut right now.
For the UK, facing 10 months of food and medicine shortages in 2021.
Fraidy Cat is missing. He did not show up for dinner, which he is always on time for (he can tell time). Calling up and down the street for him now.
Now walking up and down the street searching for sense of responsibility and public duty in government.

Prayers ascending for all in need, especially Sarasa, her brother and her friend; for the people of Beirut and for MaryLouise.

I still have to spend two weeks in quarantine (because false negatives and positives abound), but I can live with that.
I'm still waiting to hear back from the carer who got tested. Thank you for your prayers!
