Rossweisse is in the emergency room right now with severe pain, but mostly NOT in the leg, which is good, for what it's worth. Also a small wheeze, God knows why. I will keep you posted as she lets me know (she has given permission).

I would like to ask today for your prayer for one of our wayward students, with whom we're more or less at our wit's end - thus, let's call him Z. Unfortunately, Z has been nearly un-teachable, meaning he isn't really learning much with us, and his problematic and often bullying behaviour has barely changed in the 2 years he's been at the school. Z tested an IQ of 70 a few months ago, and generally doesn't get much support from his family. After some recent events, we are afraid Z may injure one of the other students at some point, as he has always been somewhat of a bully - not necessarily out of mean-spiritedness, but because he doesn't seem to get where the limits are. We are a regular school and not really equipped for this sort of behaviour, despite having a dedicated social worker.
Could I please ask you, in your grace, to lift up Z in prayer, so that we/someone would get through to him, and also that he would not, by accident or other, injure anyone (or himself)? - And also that we could find the right approach, such as with regard to the authorities and mental and other health specialists, and where to find appropriate help.
Please remember in your prayers the people in those parts of Louisiana and Texas who are being faced with Hurricane Laura. According to the Washington Post:
Hurricane Laura has continued to rapidly intensify, reaching Category 4 on the Saffir-Simpson wind scale, with peak winds of 140 mph. The storm is predicted to make landfall late Wednesday or early Thursday near the Texas-Louisiana border. The National Hurricane Center has warned of an "unsurvivable" 15-to-20-foot storm surge above normally dry land just to the east of where it comes ashore.
I have just read the Judge's summing up and sentencing of the man who killed 50 people and wounded a further 40 in 2 Christchurch Mosques in March last year.
Please will you pray for the Moslem community in Christchurch as they continue to live with the physical and emotional effects of these attacks.
My cousin, W, died earlier today of Bowel cancer. She was diagnosed in early January and had been in and out of hospital since. Prayers would be appreciated for her family and friends.
