Hello friends thank you so much for your prayers it seems we needed every one of them. We have never had a trip so full of strange forgets, lost-track-ofs ever. We are so organized and mindful as a rule it's been just- bizarre.
It began in Toronto when one of our bags that weighed exactly 23Kg on our scale came in at 24Kg on the airline's and we had to repack everything on the airport floor. When we finally got ourselves sorted half an hour later, out of sheer good luck as we were walking away I noticed my partner's passport still on the scanner.
Later before boarding I somehow dropped the folder that had my International drivers license in it. The crew found it and delivered it to my seat as the boarding gate was closing.
In London we got caught in a gale force wind this morning, which took hold of the two scarves, one which had been a gift from my daughter, and one the last Christmas gift of my mother, and whipped it off my coat. But I didn't notice it because the same wind blew over our baggage cart and spilled our suitcases in the middle of the road and we were struggling to right them. I noticed later and ran back for them, thought they were lost and almost in tears, but then saw them in a soggy traffic flattened pile in the middle of the road, which I gratefully picked up and wrung out.
We landed in Malaga and I was so happy to finally be back in the home that grief had ripped me out of three years ago. We got to the car rental counter, checked in, got everything loaded into the car, and I put my wallet up at the front console in case I needed it for any checkpoints. Then the rental agent came out and said she had rented me the wrong car and I needed to switch cars. My partner was in charge of reloading to the new car as I went round it taking pictures. We drove off and didn't discover until half an hour later that my wallet had been left on the console of the original car. Half a panicked hour later I retrieved it from the agent.
I tell you, every single one of your prayers has been a real intervention. We have been so overworked and frazzled. We have needed every one of them. And we thank you fro our hearts for your kind thoughts and good wishes.
And now, on to a Chosen Life (Galilit thank you for the insight!)
Oh, about Mr Lamb--after a knock-down drag-out verbal fight, he revealed that the pain episodes he was having in his middle chest, as I thought .. are actually far more likely to be muscle spasms in the lower back, and thus nowhere near as serious. This is what it is to have fights in a bilingual family! Grrrrrrrrrrr

For Rossweisse and anyone else in urgent need.
For America, my country. God? HELP!!! SOS!!! With angels, and archangels, and all the company of Heaven!!!!!!!!!!
For various friends with various needs.
For me: easing of health flare-ups; courage and help in getting through the election mess, whatever happens; general upholding; and private intentions.
My goodness, AFF, I'm exhausted just reading about that. Thinking of you so much and so glad you have landed where and when you wanted to. Blessings on your Chosen Life.
Prayers for Ross; for H and her baby; for others in need; for America. Lord have mercy; Christ have mercy.
I ask your prayers for a teenage girl, I, who has had major and life-changing surgery on Wednesday.
Please pray that the things which are concerning her parents resolve themselves as soon as possible and that she recovers well enough to begin the post - surgery neurological rehab which is to follow.
Please pray for A, desperately in need of at least one foster carer who can meet his somewhat challenging needs.
(And maybe also for me having to resist the temptations to (i) kidnap A and bring him home with me (which would not be good for my job as his social worker) and (ii) swear and bitch at the people who have more power than I do over the search for a new foster-care placement for A and who I can't see doing very much to help A. But mainly just for a good-enough foster carer for A - stat.)
I asked for prayers for K who is very ill with breast cancer and S her husband. I have just learned that S might have been exposed to Covid and have to self isolate. Please pray that this is not the case.
And an update on Rossweisse, from a IRL friend of hers:
The kidney procedures she had done were successful, and she is staying in the hospital to go directly into the new chemotherapy ASAP (like, maybe tomorrow). She will have to stay there for 3 to 5 days afterward, so will not be home for several more days. She is thankful for your prayers and support.
Good to have news of Rossweisse, and the success of the kidney procedures. May the new chemotherapy go well, and enable her to go home as soon as can be managed. She must be longing to be back home.
Thanks for keeping us updated, LC.
A-reading and a-praying. And if this sounds a little too lighthearted amongst all this grief (and the depression I'm holding at bay) it has to do with seeing @Rossweisse 's avatar, and a certain election result.
