I have to give a short talk at an online conference today about my doctorate proposal and I'm a bag of nerves. It will be the first time presenting my research outside my own university. Please pray for calmness and confidence and for me to overcome my anxiety.
Prayers please for my elderly parent’s much needed new care home.
We are going round in circles at the moment, producing nothing except exasperated Care Home managers.
And
I am keen Not to annoy prospective care home managers!
Only to be told that she had delivered a conference paper several years ago, but had not published it, and therefore there was no reference I could include.
And did you reference the lack of reference to Dr R as "Dr R, private communication"?
(((Telepath))) I remember talking my friend through the final hours as the black dog threatened to eat his homework.
He needs prayers again now, and I'm really not sure how to go about it myself. So often I have prayed for others and never seen any good come out of it.
He is sure that a friend from before the incident will have been advised to drop him and will have believed the lies - he hasn't been in touch for a while, and has had troubles of his own - bad ones. Though seems to be through them and was ordained into the diaconate this weekend. Which is good, so someone was listening there.
Please pray for A, the sister of a good friend of mine, who has been admitted to hospital with a bleed on the brain. She is texting her mum at present which my friend takes as a good sign.
Could I ask for your prayers for E, the most recently-qualified of the midwives with whom I work?
She's been told she's now on a "rotational contract" (not quite sure what that means), and from some time in the autumn will be hospital- rather than community-based.
From all I've observed of her, she's an utterly awesome midwife, with empathy far beyond her 21 years, and she's understandably upset, as she loves the job she's in.
It'll be a lucky hospital that gets her; I hope she can learn to love the new job and they appreciate her.
