Just checked out a copy of Changing Places from our campus library.
  • I would be interested in The Little White horse, I've never read it.

    Just bumping this up.
August Changing Places by David Lodge led by @Tukai
September The Colony of Unrequited Dreams by Wayne Johnson led by @Caissa
October East Lynne by Mrs Henry Wood led by @Mili
November The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Dare led by @Trudy
December Little Women (and Good Wives) by Louisa May Alcott led by @fineline

At the moment I think The Promise by Damon Galgut and The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge will be good choices for next year, but all other suggestions welcome. Classics always attract a lot of interest, so any ideas along that line?

Sorry to double post but still thinking of next year I was wondering about Elizabeth Gaskell's Cousin Phillis, as a choice for next year. I've just re-read it for a course I'm doing and not only is it a classic, it is a short read with lots of themes I think we'd enjoy discussing.
I know we've done Gaskell quite often, but any thoughts?

Cousin Phillis does look interesting @Sarasa.

I'll start a thread quite soon for next year.

Thanks @trudy. The Girl with the Louding Voice was one of my favourite reads of this year, so I'm looking forward to the discussion
